Well the thing with him not being able to be his older self is that the idea is he can regenerate or create whatever he turned into in that moment, like whenever he becomes the white haired boy he always starts off with the leg wound on the left then heals it, so he grew up because he never changed forms but once he did change form, he went back to being a kid again because that’s exactly how the kid was when he was first stimulated by him. So for example if he became March he could grow up if he stayed as her but the moment he turns into the wolf then switched back to being March he’ll be a child again.
