baby birds

Hello there, in the far off year of 2020. I'm back in my apartment after visiting family for the holidays and I am tapped out. I don't feel like it's a writer's block as much as it's a lack of anything there. I'm not blocked, just empty. Thinking too much about what's next, what's now, what's then, and every other which way has, I guess, left me burnt out in some fashion.

Maybe I need it, but it feels kind of bleak in its own way. I don't feel bleak now writing this, it just is that way and won't be eventually. Plus, I just sat my ass down and drew out a short comic idea I've had for a while and finished that pretty successfully! I feel good about it! I drew like I was a kid again with a blank piece of paper and a pencil and a head full of cartoons. And I'm going to try to turn this into a comic book to sell at TCAF this coming spring (you'll of course get your eyes on it first, here).

It's just about two baby birds pushing each other from the nest. It escalates. I'm gonna get on it soon. I've also been tapped to draw a foreword comic for the next Invader Zim hardcover, so as long as it gets my ass movin, I think this is the best thing for me now. To stop now would be too easy with no reward. Ya gotta keep going.
