2019-05-02 21:11:45 +0000 UTCit's definitely comin off the top of his dome as he writes. Which is like: I get it. I have more fun carving a story out bit by bit. It can be tedious to plan, and it's nice to know that others way before you have had a similar creative mindset.

2019-05-02 21:03:02 +0000 UTCI notice this a lot in older stories (and newer stuff like Chinese films, or hell, big dumb American blockbusters). Stuff just happens, then other stuff happens for no reason, then unconnected stuff happens, then the hero's about to die then someone you've never met before saves him. They don't really feel a need to establish continuity or foreshadow anything. Maybe because they were used to hearing (not reading) things told in chunks.
