Happy Birthday B. Warrick! 🧡 [Public]

[Alternate Text: An image of a beautiful sunrise. The title says: "Happy Birthday B. Warrick!"]

In honor of B. Warrick's birthday, I collected snippets, questions, teasers, and more to share with you!

[Spicy 🔥]: B's Thoughts on Making Out (or More) in a Semi-Public/Public Venue?

This was originally a character ranking, but B falls third on the list (after R, JR) for willingness.

Are you surprised? 🤔 Well, you shouldn't really be once you consider how wrapped up in the MC they are, often awed by their beloved bestie. It's like no one else is around. They're less likely to initiate this 'encounter', but if the Returning Visitor rests a hand on their thigh or starts giving them heated looks, then B's resolve starts to crumble. They will help you find a place, possibly guide (read as: drag) you to one themself, if you unabashedly keep this teasing up. While R would go all out, B would try for a quickie or pleasing you very quickly, feeling some element of being rushed which makes everything feel more intense. (They probably come undone quicker in this situation, ngl.) B will be blushing for a good half hour afterwards.

For B, the 'place' is the MC's choice aside from maybe the B&B's living room or a common area… They're too focused on you tending to something else to care about the final venue.

TFS: Book Two Snippet: B's Take on Ms. Verner 🥶

Beckett

Your feelings about your unwitting assistance in Beckett's imprisonment in Fernweh are neatly locked away. They're too upsetting—too overwhelming—to get into when staying cordial is important. Monty, the receptionist, pressing another button on the phone's keypad threatens to make you second guess this approach. "Excuse me?" He spares you a dubious glance, waiting. "I don't think that's necessary when we already have a Verner present. R will vouch for us."

"It isn't you, but him."

The stretch of your lips approximating a polite smile threatens to twist and gain more teeth.

"Beckett," you clarify his snobbish remark. "I know R personally. We were all just over at the mansion for tea. If you want to call someone as busy as Ms. Verner, that's your choice…" During the pause, you lean closer to the desk and lower your voice. Monty has become more interested now. "Do you think someone like her would really appreciate that?"

Monty's silence isn't as telling compared to his nervous glance at where R disappeared to and his rough swallow. Ms. Verner is much more than 'busy'. You're letting him supply his own descriptors: frigid, efficient, business-like, intimidating. He places the phone's handset back down with a soft click that sounds like a victory bell to you. He gestures at the rope barrier instead of personally unclipping it.

"Proceed then," Monty decides. "There are other protocols outside of signing in. Our staff members will remind you of them, if needed."

"Thanks."

Beckett is left stunned by how you defused this situation, so you tug on your joined hands to draw him away from Monty's desk.

"I wouldn't want to irritate R's mom either," he mumbles. "That was smart."

Becca

Your feelings about your unwitting assistance in Becca's imprisonment in Fernweh are neatly locked away. They're too upsetting—too overwhelming—to get into when staying cordial is important. Monty, the receptionist, pressing another button on the phone's keypad threatens to make you second guess this approach. "Excuse me?" He spares you a dubious glance, waiting. Question: Does B have any siblings?

Answer:

In Book Two, we'll learn about B being adopted by their adoptive grandmother, Gloria, including hints that their time in foster care left an impression on them. They view themself as incredibly fortunate to have been taken in by someone. I don't want to spoil too much since those of you close to B will gain insight into their past. As for siblings, they're one-of-a-kind, not that they necessarily know this for sure! (Is it true?) It isn't a stretch to say they're hesitant about acknowledging any foster siblings due to their treatment prior to Gloria's care, though they're also they type to remember a birthday or favorite flavor of someone who was kind to them when they were growing up. They view themself as an only child (and hope it's true.)

Fact: The Returning Visitor has interacted with B's family. More context/choices later. 👀

TFS: Book Two Snippet: The Guilt

Beckett

"If I ask if something's wrong, I think you'll do something to me," Beckett jokes. "But…?"

"But at least you know it isn't your fault," you finish for him. Your feelings about your unwitting involvement in your friend's imprisonment in Fernweh are overwhelming to say the least: guilt, anger, regret. Sometimes you imagine how much worse it'd be without him and then feel horrible. "You didn't do anything wrong back there."

A Quote that Reminds Me of B. Warrick 🧡🥹:

"That’s the only thing that matters, honey, for someone to see more in you than you thought there was to see."

-Arthur Japin

TFS: Book Two Snippet: Why Didn't You Say 'Honey' @ the MC? 😔

"You're sweet to me," you slur. "Like sugar."

"You make me want to be," B admits.

(There's more context to this choice-dependent scene! It's set in the past.)

TFS: Book Two Snippet: Marjorie 🤝 R. Verner on Orange Attire

"Madam, it isn't [Surname]'s birthday," R points out.

"Says you," Marjorie blithely retorts, although suspicion sours her statement. "You aren't the visitor infiltrating my garden, but I assume [he/she] would know such a thing? Through these leaves, that orange cries out—so loud. I can hear the screams sometimes… It wails."

"Fair point, but that—"

"Verner," you chastise [him/her]. "No."

"I wasn't agreeing with all of what she said," R placatingly replies. "Your dear friend would know your birthday by heart. Mine is closer to a memory, naturally. That was all."

I hope you enjoyed these moments with B. Warrick. 🧡🥰 Please take care!

Comments

it's late but it's still B's birthday here! Happy birthday to sweet B!!! The bestest friend and ~maybe more~ that we should not have trapped in Fernweh. My only consolation is that B has not been having nightmares during their stay. I'm so looking at B being "one of a kind" and also not knowing and hoping that they're an only child? Hmm, much to read about this... and about B's parents... having... children they don't know about...??

Somehow between yesterday and today my membership went from hickory to red oak but I switched it back so everything is right in the world again.
