Answer:
Eventually, we'll learn how R came to have Nox as a friend, but there is more backstory to it that's been hinted at in Book One/Book Two. Ms. Verner had her reasons, not that we're going to give her much credit when Nox is a little baby. ๐ฝ Anyway, I just wanted to mention that! He's important to R overall.
No, lbr, C is more likely to kill a person over an animal just on sheer merit. ๐
