Hi Evergreen and Hickory Patrons!
I hope that you've been looking forward to this writing. ๐ฉธ
While it was my intention to lay 'Bloodletting' to rest in this installment, it bit back with a vengeance that came out during my writing process. There's at least 10k words left in it that adds to all the other parts, so I split it up to to devote more time to its emotional conclusion.
I included flashbacks in Part 4 to show how R coped with their vampirism along with story hints that link to our posts on here. This entry is lengthy. I'm having fun with it! ๐ฅฐ You'll be getting the final part of this story relatively early in February. I sincerely appreciate your understanding given everything else that's going on with the alpha/testing, etc. Enjoy reading and please keep your stakes holstered for this part's intense ending. ๐

An unheard of timidity softens the question you're only half able to process while trying to regain your bearings. Hardwood flooring has been replaced by a mattress, letting you feel the dull aches that will awaken with time once given a cushy alternative. Your vision loses its subtle hazy quality after another slow blink that isn't alarmed because this room is so familiar.
Ruby placed you on your side of the bed, the one you previously shared together with her.

IT'S TIME. TEARS INTO BLOODLETTING 4 AND 5. R's vulnerability for the MC really tears me up inside. The fidgeting, the nervousness, the keepsakes, the check-ins. OK, maybe R doesn't need to go stand next to MC's side of the bed for hours... like, maybe you can chill for a little bit girl. But Ruby literally lived in a mausoleum to their love while she was alone. *MC's absence did more to turn Ruby into a vampire than the vampire process!!!* I'm crying over the guilt Ruby feels for what she did to herself and then when she bit January and hurt her. But also how she can't help but keep January close, the wrist grabs, the ghosting touches on her back, the looks. Char... literal worstie. I'm back to loving them for this one instead of hating them. Worstie who is "always there for you" when no one else is, but like... not in a good way. LORE: not a lot criminal element in Fernweh? Is that because of ??? or is that more Board related... or is it intertwined. ๐ค Not gonna lie and hide my freak, Jam and Ruby's dance at the bloodletting chalice was hot. All the cuts that only resulted in a teaspoon of blood, the dance beforehand, just like the way Ruby taught her to dance before... the girls... who is doing it like them ๐ฅฐ I loved the distraction Ruby planned, very insulting, very defiant, very Ruby. I'm sure as a bloodline and a vampire, she knows who has seniority and the proper way to do things, so she knows the best way to insult Franz and stir shit up.
