Callbacks are going to be so amazing but I'm also experiencing OneFear in that I've played too many times with January and didn't save the majority of my playthroughs and I don't know what's in my actual saves. Ha aha haha ha ha? I guess it's going to be a surprise what I see down the line. I honestly have to make playthroughs with notes, like how I played Jam and S, or how much Jam resisted or how she treated Milton. Or if Jam and B almost kissed or not. Or if Jam and Mal kissed or not. Joshua though - he threw that candle in the TRASH because he does not want to be reminded of his grandfather. And he's neutral to Mal. And abandonment still hurts him. These things are set. Can't wait to see the consequences.

It's a great way for you to catch hints. 👀 Your rebellious MC is right! The ??? will remember that resistance; I'm excited for the two of them to continue this war of attrition throughout the series.

I do agree that it can speak to attention to detail along with placing them in ways readers might have an 'a-ha moment' when recognizing their choice changed the scene. 😁 (Rn, they are coming up very heavily in the nightmare section.) I have some theories about what Zarina might have done with the candle. I'll be intrigued to see if I'm right. 🕯

I love the idea of callbacks because your actions DO have consequences and it makes me want to replay again and again to see if I missed anything.
