Mrs. Dorran's creativity has transformed the B&B into a set from a classic horror movie.
Jane trudges through the packed hallways with a resolute determination not to spill a single drop of chilled apple cider. She keeps her elbows bent, arms raised at chest level while balancing three skull-shaped goblets. Each of her solid steps is matched by a pulsing beat. It's seeping through the spiderweb coated walls, low bass faintly quaking through her in a way that's both mildly disorienting and energizing.
She nearly nods at a skeleton after it politely waves 'hello' until she detects that it's a prop…
The grim reaper waves again when Jane skirts past it because the decorations aren't giving her as wide a berth as the party goers.

Ooh, that loss of coherency means my and R's mission was accomplished quite spectacularly, so thank you! 💚🥰 That detail that's shared between Joshua and R is a great one--the need to pull J closer so they know they're wanted. It's a minor trend with them that the MC can soothe/change, but yes, J lives for that grabbing and being close even if they're not always the one to initiate it first. 🥺 I like how that detail resonates with Joshua. The fact that it's something he would naturally do makes me smile because J normally would cave for him. XD This is actually a unique circumstance where it fails. (Yes, J tends to spoil the MC; it's what they deserve. 💞) I'm so glad that you enjoyed the different parts/touches in this, especially that devious underwear snap, hehe. (I'm certain J wouldn't say 'no' to spending some alone time to Josh, although R's impatience could lead to their hat yet again coming in handy until they could sit together in the car. J would make it up to him, dw, possibly sooner than anyone might think.) (R would be possessive yet proud of their tangible effect. >:D)

(lol hit enter way too soon :\) I love how Reese grabs Jane's hip so she scoots closer and then Josh does the same thing, putting his hands on her waist to encourage her to move closer. 💖Grab your girl. PLUS, when the returning visitor says "Jane" sweetly and asks if it's scary - I swear this was written for Josh - this is exactly how I picture him acting in this scenario. He likes being scared (movies, books, haunted houses), but only with warning beforehand. Everything else is chef's kiss - Jane grabbing Josh's wrist (betrayal!!!), Reese snapping Josh's underwear (BRO???) and Josh's disheveled state by the end. (NSFW-ish here - Josh and Jane might need to stay in the closet for a bit. Er, if Reese doesn't want the partygoers to look at Josh's hot pirate outfit, he definitely wouldn't want the citizens to see the bulge in Josh's pants)
