Extended Progress Update: May 25 2023

Many of you will have returned to Fernweh by now thanks to our first Book Two alpha content drop! 🌲 It sincerely excites and encourages me to have you all back in town; there is so much in store for you within this next book. As more content is released, I hope that you’ll have a chance to experience/feel how TFS’s story deepens to become more consuming as we move forward.

Oh, one thing I will mention that links to the alpha content is S’s hair dye poll! Please remember to cast a vote, but you will notice that ‘royal blue’ (or a rarer color) is the color displayed right now within the Connections stat page.💙 Once the next batch of content is released, it likely at first isn’t going to match the TFS Patreon voted on color. This is because I don’t want to break your saves by changing it right now for our alpha. Don’t worry! The correct color you all vote on will be within the final book or whenever I need to (or have to) break your saves.

Anyway, I will mention that^ again later on since I take the polls (and everything else) seriously, but there are still quite a few votes outstanding, so who knows which color will win. 👀

Some of you will notice this progress update isn’t on my typical Friday. That is because a particular, enigmatic someone wanted a day all to themself rather than to share their birthday with an update. Mal’s birthday post is going to be featuring a section of Book Two that I’m eager to share; it goes well beyond my usual few sentences teaser. 💞 Mal romancers should be happy!

I’ve been continuing to work on those branches I mentioned in the last update. They have been so engaging to write; this will be the longest chapter I’ve written so far. 😌 It is my hope that you enjoy the variation/choices within each RO branch so much that you want to replay it in addition to wanting to seek out additional branch(es). By this I mean, you might want to delve deeper into say B’s section and then eventually jump to R’s section or whomever else might have caught your attention after you’re done with Bee. 🐝 A more concrete example would be what can change just within J’s section: your dynamic with A influences multiple scenes, your romance path with Mal can result in some unique encounters, your past crush can unlock a bonus choice, a new variable I may eventually talk about that does things, and so forth in addition to the the obvious different choices you can make for your MC.

Basically, I don’t want any branch to be a one-shot type of experience, so while the writing is stacking up in both time and word count, I believe it’s making Book Two stronger. 🌲

Along with filling out those intricate branches, I’ve recently started working on the summer RO content for June/July. 😎 More information will be announced in June’s Content Schedule.

"What'd they do?" B instantly demands, letting the towel slip free of their hands as they shift to the end of the bed.

"—an accident."

I hope whomever the MC hit with the seat belt wasn’t hurt. It’s hard to say what’s going on. XD
