Extended Progress Update: April 27 2023

We're finally almost in May, yay! I'm hoping that many of you have been looking forward to the Book Two alpha content drop ✨ that's scheduled for this month. I revealed the date yesterday when releasing the May Content Schedule. I went with this day because of the use of '13' in horror media in addition to that being the total number of chapters within the first book of TFS.

It should be easy to remember too!

My outline for Book Two is very layered, partially due to the plot itself now that we’ve had the foundation of returning to Fernweh alongside the initial character meetings. I can see where I’ve strengthened the variation by calling on dynamics/variables which has also led to a common trend in the word count creeping ever higher. (It even surprised me, ngl.) An early chapter in Book Two is already longer than the longest chapter in Book One. I’m sure many of you have a guess as to which one that is—Chapter 11, surviving the sunken clearing encounter. It excites me! <3

I’m certain playing it will be way more fun than me explaining the details. XD I’m just trying to stress that the additional words/time (so many hours) are to add depth to TFS’s world.

There are many new variables because I love to track things throughout your story. The one I wanted to mention is: b_confidant. This one comes up with B as your best friend, allowing you to choose whether you confide in them about your RO excursion (date branch) or not. It’s also a great way to learn their opinions/feelings on your potential romantic partner(s). There’s sure to be some laughs, possibly a hint of angst, and an opportunity for bestie talk. Don’t fret if B isn’t your bff; each character has some scenes set aside to show how you two are becoming close. It will be fun to unlock/trigger them on replays. I’m sure some of you have bestie/RO pairings.

Mrs. Dorran’s birthday is tomorrow; hopefully, her birthday post touches some of you. It’s sweet.

I’m also tentatively brainstorming ideas for themed summer content for the ROs. 😎

Aside from being hard at work on Book Two, I’ve been finalizing things for the first alpha drop to ensure it goes smoothly. I tried to future-proof the files to avoid saves breaking, etc. I’ll talk more about that in the future. It’s been busy here. I sincerely hope you’re excited for May! 🥰

You shift closer to Mrs. Dorran, noticing how her choice of a blue stained glass panel adds a cool hued filter to the outside world that's easier to peek through. Does she have experience snooping, or is this thanks to her art background? "Oh, what did I miss," you whisper. "Anything good?"

I wonder whom the MC and Mrs. Dorran might be spying (?) on. 👀🔎 Lol, this is from a choice option, so you don’t have to condone this relatively innocent curiosity. It’s up to your MC. XD
