Image Volume 1 treatment part 1 of the story

Part 1: Enter Coleman Maverick

This opens up with meteorites heading towards earth, we see earth in the distance of the trajectory of the meteor’s path. We then cut to Coleman sleeping in his bed but is suddenly woken up with a loud noise caused by one of the meteorites landing in his front yard. He checks out the window to see what made the noise and he sees a glowing object in the distance buried in the ground. He goes outside to investigate.

He becomes curious about the meteorite and when he tries to pick it up, the moment he touches it, the glow from the meteorite starts to travel from his hand up his arm and spreads all over his body. Then we see the image logo being branded on his chest and you see him yelling into the sky in pain as it burns away some of his shirt. It then cuts to a newsfeed explaining what has happened.

A year ago meteorites fell to earth and disintegrated when they entered our atmosphere. Releasing something that spread over the earth. Alien radiation, cosmic energy, to this day no one really knows. It then cuts to Coleman as We see him looking in a mirror at the logo that is branded onto his chest. He then remembers his hand going out to touch the meteorite. Just then an image of his hand appears next to him and it goes forward smashing the mirror by accident. Coleman looks in shock at what has happened. It then cuts back to the news feed explaining more of what has happened and is assisted by imagery to go along with it. Reports came flooding in of people suddenly waking up either to strange abilities, or altered appearances, such as strange skin color or strange attributes. With these great powers, it was only a matter of time before these people decided to use them for nefarious purposes. Robberies, destruction, and all around violent crimes occurred due to this event. And given what they can do, there has been very little that law enforcement could do to stop them.

It then cuts to Coleman watching this newsfeed. He looks at his comic of Hero-man in his hand and then gets an intensified look on his face. It then cuts to a montage of him training and practicing. He’s doing sit ups and push-ups, and we also see him outside in some wilderness area, as he practices using his powers. He’s making images of fists and projectile weapons, and uses them on the surrounding trees, and finishes by making an image of a giant axe-like object and chops the tree down in one swoop. We then see Coleman looking up and we see a shot of the sky. He preps himself as an image of a jet pack is created on his back and he takes off into the sky. We see a shot of Coleman laughing and smiling as he’s flying. We then hear voice over from the newsfeed. With things as they are right now, is there anything in our future we have to look forward to? Is there hope of a better tomorrow?

We see Coleman is riding in the back seat with his mom in the passenger side while his dad is in the driver's seat driving. His dad let’s Coleman know that they’ve arrived at their destination. And we have a one page shot of the car they are in, following the moving trucks. There’s a sign that says welcome to Telsa and there’s a big city in the background. We see some more of the car driving as we see Coleman from the window looking up at the tall buildings and smiling. They pull up to their apartment and his mom tells him to put down his comic and to grab a box.

We then cut to later as Coleman is setting boxes in his room. Discreetly we see him put a box on his bed and open it up. When it opens we see him smile as we see it’s a hoodie with the logo printed on it. We cut to him opening his bedroom window and we see him flying out with his image of a jetpack and his hoodie and mask. He finds a tall building and lands on it as he takes in the view of his new city.

We cut to a convenience store as we are introduced to Starla Ramone and her little brother Roger Ramone. She’s taken him to get popsicles as these will be the last ones before school starts back up. We then see a man walking up to the store doors as he blows them open with a touch of his hands. Starla hugs her little brother close as the doors come zipping past her. We see the man in full view smirking as he comes indoors. He intends to kill the cashier for ratting on his friends , which they are now behind bars because of. Star’s little brother runs over to the man as Star tries at the last minute to grab him. Roger starts pounding on the man’s leg to leave the cashier alone. He slaps him back handed and Star grabs her brother as he’s holding his cheek and has tears running down his face.

Star shouts at the man for doing that to her brother. He scoffs at her and tries to continue with what he was doing. Star shouts at him to stop as she raises her hand and we see it glowing. She has tears running down her face as she’s holding her brother with one arm, and has her other hand that’s glowing held up and pointed at the man. The man looks at Star with a grin. He gives off dialogue, a little surprised to see Star has powers but mocks her because he can tell she doesn't know how to use them. He then charges at her proclaiming that she’ll never have the chance to learn. She looks away holding her brother close still with her glowing hand up.

But as he’s charging at her, an image of a rope comes through the demolished door and grabs the man by the arm. He’s yanked outside and is on the ground. He looks up to see Coleman in his mask and hoodie as Coleman recommends he stays down. The man gets on his knees and pulls out a quarter. He asks Coleman if he could somehow convince him to look the other way. Coleman replies “ not a chance “ and with a smirk, the man flicks the quarter at Coleman’s face at high speed and it gets him on the chin. It takes Coleman off guard as he staggers and holds his chin. The man takes the opportunity to launch at Coleman and he’s able to push him across the street. However, Coleman stops his trajectory by making an image of a mattress which stops him. As Coleman picks himself off the ground, the man explains his power that if he can make something budge even just a little bit he can send it flying at high speeds. He then sends a car flying Coleman’s way.

Coleman is about to dodge but sees a man exiting a store surprised at what’s coming his way. Coleman stands strong and makes an image to stop the car. He looks behind him and asks if the man is alright, to where the man nods yes. Coleman jumps on top of the car only to see the man has Star in his clutches. Coleman demands he let her go, to where he says that he should’ve thought that sentence through, as he launches Star into the sky at the far right. Image flies after her. We see Star panicking as she's flying through the air and about to hit pavement before Coleman swoops in and catches her. We see Coleman having Star in his arms and he asks her if she’s alright. She blushes but her hand starts to glow and shoots a beam which causes Coleman to let go and Star to fall again but Coleman catches her again. Star aggressively apologizes for that and says she’s usually so much better at controlling that. Coleman says that he understands as Star has been through a lot tonight.

Coleman returns Starla to the area and her brother runs out and hugs her. A sight at which Coleman can’t help but smile at. He asks if the two are alright and if they require anything else. Star says they’re good, but Roger is rubbing his cheek and sniffling. Coleman notices and bends down and asks what happened there. Roger says the man hit him because he wanted him to leave Mr. Spencer alone. Coleman comforts him saying he should usually lay low in those types of situations, but regardless he’s very brave for doing such a thing. Roger smiles at that and Coleman pats him on the head telling him to look after his sister. Then there are police sirens in the distance and Coleman saying that’s his cue to leave. He takes off into the sky, and Starla is shouting for him to wait, as she tries to say thank you but he’s out of earshot now.

We then see Coleman come back into his room through his window. As he’s walking inside we see his dad grab Coleman by the shoulder saying “ there you are! Where have you been? And what are you wearing? I don’t think I’ve seen you wear that before. Coleman says he thought that he’d step out for a bit. His dad asks whether or not that involved his powers or not. Before Coleman can answer, his mom calls his dad into the living room and let’s him know that she got an alert on her phone telling her that there was a super attack on a nearby convenience store but was stopped by a boy in a hoodie and mask. Coleman and his dad look at eachother and his mom asks where Coleman got that hoodie.
