*some might consider this spoilers but I don’t reference any future events and all of this can/should have been infured by watching the show up to this point* I get how it would have been cool if old boy knew he was gonna die and just gave him the knife anyway but that’s only true If Kirei kotomine was honest about taking care of tahsaka’s daughter you may have had a point but ONLY if it wasn’t already completely clear that, that man is pure evil. What do you actually think he meant when he said those words to the man he was about to betray??

Everyone besides Shirou gets little to no development and even then Shirou is still very one-note. And since the series takes place in high school with a largely younger cast, it doesn't have the same gritty feel that F/Z has.
