Added 2024-04-25 08:00:03 +0000 UTCWe're seeing the writers fall in love with Mr Burns as a cartoon villain, a larger than life figure that is a good starting point for ridiculous jokes about wealth and extravagance. We get glimpses into his life beyond his role as Homer's boss in "Two Cars In Every Garage and Three Eyes On Every Fish", a little bit more in "Dancin' Homer", and now we have a brief and unnecessary-to-the-plot detour to his home in this episode.
We've already visited Burns Manor in season 1's "There's No Disgrace Like Home", but here we learn it is next to Croesus St and Mammon St - "Croesus" being the last kind of Lydia, known for his wealth and "Mammon" is a biblical term to do with wealth, money and greed. Burns Manor is large enough to need its own security team.
Only one of these fellas gets a line, after which he can hopefully return to reading Les Miserables.
