Spent more time than necessary trying to make Daphne cuter than usual in the first panel, but actually more proud of how she came out in the last. I wanted her to look utterly defeated as she accepted the necessity of visiting the dwarves, so I tried to make not just her facial expression, but her whole body droop and sag. I love making her look cartoonish, because her personality is so cartoonish too.
Oh, also, maybe the “bros of the Sandy Valley” tells you where this is going, but the dwarves are gonna be a sendup of miners— crypto miners.
