Progress report Loki Game Nr 4 - 2021 09 20
Here's the fourth week progress report ^^
We're still on schedule with the development!
Cres finished two CG scenes this week (both with goblins) and drew the goblins for the combat CGs.
I also sorted out most of the stuff I mentioned in the last post, with having a rough plan for the project and having all of the CG scenes and "themes" of them pinned down.
Also the SFX editing is... hopefully done?
(I just decided to work with what I have right now, should be "good enough")
So only the mapping part is in my way.
The rest should be "smooth sailing", especially considering that the programming has already been 90% completed by me by the time we started this.
(I copied my code from "Taihou Prototype" which was already complete and did exactly the thing I needed, it's also bug free so that's that, no reason to not use it)
Cres arm is btw well again, no problems there.
(last week she bumped her wrist, but as I said, it wasn't anything major and it healed off during our "weekend" when we were driving around to appointments)
With "how good things are going", as well as exhaustion slowly setting in after 4 weeks of working ~6 days (whenever we could) per week and spending our free days mostly driving around in the car for the entire day to go to appointments (housebuilding related mostly) we think it's best to go back to a 5 workdays schedule to not tire out for the final stretch.
We're past the 50% work done mark on the art department, and reaching this milestone during the fourth work week is exactly what we needed.
Note that this does NOT mean that the game is 50% done.
Only the art.
The implementation of the art (obviously only possible after the art has been made!) still needs to be done, which includes the writing for the scenes that I haven't gotten to yet.
At this point, I'm more worried about my own "progress" on the project.
Given that I basically finished programming and (makeshift) planning and editing of voicework, while being in the middle of mapping.
With the current biggest hurdles being mapping (since I have 0 experience here) and writing of CG scenes (oh boy lol... but I'll cook something up, no worries! dialogue mostly though, it's the best I can do).
Bottom line, I'm sure we can pull it off in time, everything is looking good so far ^^
For next week, I plan to assign a commission to Cres, as well as having her draw the remaining speedpaint on Saturday, so I get her "off my shoulders" or how you call it.
By that I mean, if she draws something I do not need to direct or "check on" etc. then I can focus on my work.
(yes, being interrupted while concentrating sucks haha)
So expect a probably slightly slower output by the end of this week.
But no worries, we're still on schedule!
The art on this project is calculated with taking 2-3 months to be done, and it looks like Cres will beat the 2 months mark still.
So all good.
As always, enjoy the art previews!
Some of it blurred to keep some surprises for you guys.
That being said, see ya all next week! ^^
