2018-12-09 22:55:03 +0000 UTCThere is a tradition amongst wood workers to build fixtures and machines from the material they know best. Lots of articles around about building bandsaws, jointers and planers from wood. If it's what you're most comfortable with, why not wood? It's inexpensive, vibration dampening and he has the equipment to work it. It's not like he has to hold 10 micron tolerances in his finished work!
