Patreon Exclusive Q&A!

Did you just completely gloss over why she won't respond to ANY private messages and grasp on to the "have someone pass them on to me" thing? Because she gave a very good reason to not be comfortable about answering/viewing PMs and invited people to chat with her in the comment sections. Where in the sign up tiers does it say "entitled to one on one convos with Alanah?" So no, its not an insult. If you were an actual fan of the content and people you are helping to support you'd be satisfied.

Not bothering to answer all of your PMs should be a sign of that person just not giving a shit/too busy. We are giving our hard earned dollars and being ignored is an insult.

Yeah, also guilty of not realising the PM's weren't a thing. For the record it was some congratulations on an announcement that got overshadowed but made me sit up and take notice; Hi Alanah, just responding to your comment the other night about the Batman statue getting more attention than your Forbes listing. The Statue is cool as hell, but the listing was a real surprise. Not because you don't deserve it but because it's a really BIG deal. Congratulations and you have my permission to be extremely pleased with yourself! But yeah, the statue is really cool too.

Sent a message not knowing about the no message thing. Sorry. Posting here: Not really a podcast question but just generally feel like you have great instinct/feel for the pulse of the gaming space and wanted to ask if you had any thoughts on the probability of a Deus Ex III in any timeframe near or far. That said, greatly appreciate what you do and am glad I can offer some support in some way. If technosaints were a thing, I’d say you’d be up in the running to be declared one. Techno as in technological or maybe cybersaint would’ve been better in terms of localization. Sorry, rambling. Anyway, yeah, you’re cool, thanks for what you do. Take care.

I sent a private message before I learned you don't read them, so, as you suggested, I'll leave it here: I love Idiots and a Broad and I'm glad to be able to contribute to help keep them coming. The chemistry reminds me a lot of me and my friends. It's very entertaining and makes me miss being able to hang out with them. I also appreciate your level headed and honest YouTube videos. Keep up the good work!

With Writing 101. Have you thought of having a show where you discuss your experience starting at a Game studio as a writer? (Obviously, after that game has come out) P.S. great work

I know duckit. I was passing out asleep at the time, and you've worked with them and know personally those involved, friends with, etc. etc. but, in the UK at least, I wouldn't expect to go on Twitter and see someone saying "This large company isn't living up to their contractual obligations". Without context of your familiarity with those you're talking about, it seems like social impropriety. Again, I'm sure you know what you're doing and it's fine, but from an outside viewpoint, which I suspect you're not bothered about either way, it looked a bit odd. Forget I said anything TBH. *shrug*

I know you LOVE working, but damn you work a LOT. Give the foster doggo (if you have one currently) some love from me!

Thanks for answering my question and keep up the great work, loving the different podcast and content.

Lance Schantz

Thank you so much Alanah. Thanks again for all your hard work on bringing us these podcasts and this content, and taking the time to do a Q&A. :)

Pagan McGrath

Thank you for the Q&A! I didn’t expect your own Patreon welcome message makes you so confused, sorry, I just wanted to reflect your kindness back because it made me feel really good when I signed up and I thought it applies to you as well :).

I have been a professional in this space for many, many years, I’m all good :)

Poor Bee. Makes sense though I guess. Just have to hope she gets picked up. Did see RLOC. Good show. Really funny. Laughed my ass off in the gym in fact. I wondered why that live IAAB didn't show up in YouTube actually. Guess that explains it. But yeah, great work, keep it up, I'll tune in when I can so please try to ensure your recordings are accessible and well ordered is my humble request. 👌 OH: not to tell anyone their business but I would've thought talking about business on air, even on Pateron, isn't the best of ideas. I mean, OK, sounds like Rooster Teeth are being janky with the recording, but still, seems a bit private behind the scenes stuff. Just concerned for professional wellbeing is all. I don't mean anything by it.

My partner's been watching me play Elden Ring a fair bit (not much choice, tbh 😄). She's not a gamer but has helped out by looking things up in the wiki so I don't get led down spoiler paths - it's like having my very own "guy in the chair". I've also noticed she often spots puzzle solutions that I miss - she's quite useful really!

Steve Goodman

Cool, I was thinking of the format rather than Elden Ring specifically. But considering how the game has stolen my life at present, that would be perfect 👍

Steve Goodman

Well so much for my question 😂

Drew Torres

I feel like I cheated somewhat by sneaking in two, but thank you for answering both, anyhow! 😂 And for taking the time to answer all of these, really. So glad the Accessibility Awards got more coverage this time around, and stoked for the next! Also, I blanked on the live show bit and actually was not thinking about the IGN days, but moreso you doing it unaffiliated with anyone for the shows now? No idea if that makes sense, but yeah. Thanks again, and congrats on the success on here!

Friend of mine provided the favorite co-op's played with the SO: "Catastronauts, Overcooked, Unrailed, Out of Space, Cook Serve Delicious, Moving Out". I'm giving It Takes Two with my SO a try - difficulty with the camera and using a keyboard really stood out. I wonder if I should get them into some games I'm pretty sure they'll like rather than digging for the perfect co-op.

Peter

I asked them! I hope so, I kept the save file, it would be neat to continue :).

Alanah Pearce

Hmmm I hadn’t considered that! There is a Reddit my mods manage but nobody really uses it.

Alanah Pearce

Thanks for taking the time, it’s appreciated. If Jon’s gonna be around, is there the possibility of getting the three (or even four) musketeers back together for some more Elden Ring style gameplays? The series was great fun to watch. Also, you guys playing A Dark Souls rpg is as good as it gets for me, hope it happens. I saw a game called “Ikai” today and thought of you, it’s a horror game inspired by Japanese folklore that looks quite creepy in a J horror kinda way. Might be worth checking out as a possible lets play.

Steve Goodman

Great Q&A! Me asking about the possibility of a Patreon exclusive Discord server had less to do with interacting with you (no offense), and more so interacting with the other Patrons. I subscribe to the band Foxing's Patreon, which includes an exclusive Discord server, and the community I found there has helped me survive the pandemic/isolation these past few years. I was just curious about the possibility of that being replicated, but with your podcasts/content being what unifies the community. All good either way. :-)

Totally agree about Portal 2 Co-op! It's the only game I was able to get my wife to play on a PC and she loved it. She can also show him Portal 1, cause just watching someone play through it, slowly unwrapping the Portal lore, is a lovely experience. I remember catching one of your DJ Live streams when the pandemic first started--that was an incredible time and wasn't expecting to see. Since you're also (kinda) in the VR world, was wondering if you've tried "Tribe XR | DJ in VR" yet? I believe you're able to host a global DJ event within the app? *hinthintwinkwinknudgenudge!* Nice!!! When Jon moves in, we wouldn't be mad if there was an impromptu stream of ATLAS and P-body taking down a few test chambers. ;)

Gene Hormigoso

2nd Annual VGAA stream was a huge success, kudos to you, Steve and amazing people at AbleGamers! And poor Queen B, hope she finds a new home soon.
