Also I wanted some verification of my laser driver circuit before connecting anything expensive to it.

Given how obscenely expensive these things are, the wider market has a certain appeal ... :)

2018-04-17 20:19:33 +0000 UTCI don't think reverse polarity protection is needed, especially since this is not a big production of these for the wider market. As long as the user knows, you should be fine
