Apple and payments
Added 2024-10-08 14:19:36 +0000 UTCMost of you have probably heard through other channels by now about Apple and Apple Pay concerning Patreon subscriptions. But in case there are some people here that haven't heard, I thought it would be a good idea to write a quick info about it.
If you have an Apple device and use the Patreon app on said device, it is highly recommended that you don't use the app itself for setting up your payments. This is due to Apple's requirement of using Apple Pay, in which Apple takes a 30% cut of all transactions.
So if you are using an Apple device, it is recommended that any subscriptions be handled through a regular browser rather than the Patreon iOS app.
If you're on any other system and don't use the app, you can disregard this message.
