iPad Mira M4L Patch
Added 2024-09-11 18:58:27 +0000 UTCHello, friends! This M4L device requires that you have Mira for iPad. FYI I am using an iPad Pro M2. However, the patch doesn't. So if you don't have an iPad you can still go through and select things to automate with things like Expression Control or LFO or whatever! I hope you have fun with it!

2024-09-22 08:40:34 +0000 UTCYes. Do the four buttons at the bottom not output midi?
User Friendly
2024-09-21 14:56:15 +0000 UTCIt's the 4 buttons underneath the mira software, not the ones on the left side
jianyu mo
2024-09-21 14:18:05 +0000 UTCthere really shouldn't be any setup process. It should just output midi and then you use the map buttons to assign things.

2024-09-21 13:50:26 +0000 UTCCan you put out a video on the setup process? please~

2024-09-21 13:46:51 +0000 UTCIt should output MIDI. Though someone else was having issues with it. Do you see the little yellow dots indicating midi output?

2024-09-21 13:08:50 +0000 UTCHow do you map the trigger logic to the drums?

2024-09-16 21:35:14 +0000 UTCI tried both… record enabled track always enabled and tried both with midi in and auto… same, no dice

2024-09-16 21:34:47 +0000 UTCNah it shouldn't matter. I have all those same errors and it doesn't effect anything for me. Could you save the session as Bassmagissue, then do a collect all and save, then send it to me? I can't think of what the issue would be. But also, I originally had this working on ableton 11. everything was working fine, the next day I could not get the patch to send MIDI out on Ableton 11, but still worked fine on ableton 12.

2024-09-16 17:28:02 +0000 UTCI'm looking in max and there are a load of errors where it says live.remote parameter already controller by another live.remote.. not sure if that has anything to do with anything?
bassmagnetic
2024-09-16 17:23:52 +0000 UTCif the track is record enabled it doesn't make a difference and neither does the monitor setting (its usually on auto)
bassmagnetic
2024-09-16 17:19:34 +0000 UTCOkay. And just to be sure, you the record button is on and/or midi monitor is checked to “IN” or “Auto”?

2024-09-16 17:16:37 +0000 UTCI'm getting feedback so all fingers are registering in Live... it doesn't seem to be transmitting midi... if I touch the screen or boxes in Mira Live's midi monitor doesn't show anything, no movement on the yellow meters
bassmagnetic
2024-09-16 17:13:10 +0000 UTCHmmm. That’s weird. Are you getting feedback from the device on screen when you touch it? That’s to say, if you put fingers on the iPad, do you see circles with with numbers on the ableton device? Also, is the device outputting midi when you touch it? So if you open a new session and put just the Mira device in a session, will it send midi and/or do you see the little yellow meter showing midi being output from the device?

2024-09-16 13:50:26 +0000 UTCWhat version of ableton are you on?

2024-09-16 13:45:22 +0000 UTCi've got some sound out of it, but only after I've played some midi notes on the keyboard... how is it meant to work? i've got it connected with Mira and if I check the lowest box on the left I get a regular hi hat type clock tempo thing... but thats about it, meld and wavetable don't make any sound or lower boxes / buttons and finger movement no sound hmmm... (I'm not great with figuring out signal flow with Ableton)

2024-09-16 13:25:01 +0000 UTCI mean if it works it works and that's great. But it's surprising because Apple keeps changing so much, at least all the app devs are always crying about that ... or are they just crying hmmm ...

2024-09-12 12:13:09 +0000 UTCYes Koala is absolutely one of the best IOS music apps out there imo. I think it's better than ableton note. The reverb in it is stunning

2024-09-12 12:12:27 +0000 UTCYeah i really haven't noticed any issues with it. I don't believe they have completely abandoned it, but I do think it's been quite some time since they have done anything with it.

2024-09-12 12:09:28 +0000 UTCI think the Koala app is worth a look. Not for connecting to Live, but to use as a sampling groovebox like an Elektron in a live performance or creative exploration. Koala seems to be closest to the SP404-MK2. Maybe if the Roland folks had better software chops they'd have cooked up something just like it. There are already skins out there to make Koala look just like the SP404 ... the buttons and functions are that cleanly mappable

2024-09-12 05:54:59 +0000 UTCIs Cycling'74 still working on Mira? iPad integration really is such a great direction, it makes so much sense, but I see in the app store that the app hasn't been updated in 3 yrs. Maybe I'm missing something.
