BIG NEWS

Well, the cat is officially (finally) out of the bag. The Tape Library is now part of the Spectrevision Radio Network.

For those who don’t know. Spectrevision is a production company from actor Elijah Wood and producer Daniel Noah. They are responsible for some great pieces of weird cinema like A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, Color out of Space, Mandy and the absolute masterpiece that is The Greasy Strangler.

I’m a massive film nerd, so I’ve been a huge fan of what these guys are doing for a long time. Last year they launched Spectrevision Radio, which was their foray into the world of podcast and they instantly signed up a really impressive roster of people from filmmakers like Mike Flanagan & Joe Dante, to names big in the more esoteric & paranormal world like Greg and Dana Newkirk, Mitch Horowitz & Jim Perry.

I’ve been asked to join podcast networks a few times and really had no interest in doing so, but when Spectrevision got in touch it felt very different. This was a company I was already a big fan of and they were amassing a roster of talent that I thought was really impressive. I genuinely felt honoured to be asked to get involved.

This wouldn’t have ever happened if it wasn’t for all your wonderful support for the show up to this point, so from the bottom of my heart thank you.

What does this mean for The Tape Library? Well by and large, not a lot as far as you guys are concerned. The Tape Library is still an independent production that is entirely written and created by me. The show itself isn’t changing, Spectrevision Radio are just a collective of great creative shows working together to try and help promote one another.

As a result of this partnership, if you haven’t seen yet, you’ll now be able to watch the video version of each episode on Spotify as well as Youtube.

I’m really excited to work with Spectrevision on this going forward and I really hope you guys check out some of the amazing other shows on the network! I genuinely mean it when I say they now have some of my favourite podcasts of all time (Weird Studies AND Knifepoint Horror?!)

Thank you all once again for making this show what it is.

Much love,

TL

Thank you so much for the kind words Jamie :)

I had never heard of Spectrevision before, but am incredibly happy to hear of your much-deserved and hard earned success! (Also excited about checking out all they have to offer.) There's just no one who captures the vibe sonically speaking and also uses visual media to further terrify or add exposition and atmosphere the way you do. I've been a fan of everything paranormal since Time Life Books released the Mysteries of the Unknown book series during my childhood. I wonder if anyone else remembers those black-bound books with Egyptian pyramids and UFOs on the the covers. Anyway, congratulations, Mr. Library! You're gonna be a big star-- it's a shame Art Bell isn't around to interview you! I'm sure he would have loved to have you as a guest.
