2024-09-05 15:12:56 +0000 UTCoh yeah, totally agree with you there. I think what makes cases like this, sam and mothman stand out to me is just how 'weird' they all are. It's not just as simple as "I saw a flying saucer", its seeing these creatures or whatever they are that don't even really fit the stereotypical idea of an alien. Obviously I take all these accounts with a big pinch of salt, but the similarities between them and the elements that make them stand out from normal UFO sightings really itches my brain.

Thinking of all the cryptids trying to mimic humans is definitely a scary thought. Because in the end, what do they want with us?

Reminded me very much of Sam at points, and I don't mean to sound like a cliche or anything, but definitely had some demonic vibes. With the "not a man or ghost bit from Sam", the ball of light becoming a 'human like' figure, the sulfur smell... And there are people who theorize that at least in some cases, what we think of as aliens are actually demons. So much of this case seems to have been lost to time though and it is hard to know how much was exaggerated or possibly hoaxed, but I do believe the first account personally. Not just because of how it was described but the fact that she didn't seem to have tried to capitalize on her encounter in any way, but that she genuinely saw something she didn't understand and couldn't explain. Another great addition to the tape library π thank you so much for all your hard work π β€οΈ

Frankly, as you stated in your video, many people around the world and in the US were crazy about UFO sightings. Now, whether they're facts or not remains to be seen to this day, and I'm not intentionally trying to discredit anyone, but at the same time, everyone wanted to be a part of the "I saw a UFO, ghost, sasquatch, etc." phenomenon, only to gain attention for their small towns and their 15 minutes of fame. I could be wrong, as I wasn't alive at the time to say whether they were right or not, and as for government involvement, well, they cover up so many things from the public anyway, that you can't fully trust everything they say either. Also, we need to consider that during the 1950s, the US and USSR were in a Cold War, so perhaps the government was testing new weapons or aircraft and disguised them as UFOs as a scapegoat to reduce the fear of a possible nuclear fallout that could have ensued at any moment. But that's just my opinion. Good episode, and it certainly raises questions. Just food for thought. I enjoyed the video regardless. π
