RaceMenu 0.4.19.8 AE 1.6.342

This is the preliminary version of RM for Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Expect bugs or broken functionality, I don't have the mods to reach testing coverage.

Get the preliminary SKSE version

This version is feature complete, if you notice any missing functionality that comes standard with RM please post the steps and expected result. You may be expecting a third party plugin to work that is not associated with RM.

Still investigating Overlays disappearance on load, I cannot reproduce this locally, if you experience this bug, please screenshot the console contents after running:

skee diagnostics updates

Just after your game is loaded. They should all be zeroes after a load.

Hi Expired, I've installed this RaceMenu version since I'm running 1.6.342, as well as SKSE64 2.1.4, however my other RaceMenu tabs aren't showing up, only race, body, head, face, eyes, brow, mouth, and hair. I used to have more - warpaints, presets, etc. Any thoughts? Thanks

To clarify, Skyrim got updated to 1.6.353 recently, and now skee64.dll is outdated. If you're gonna update, you'll need to fix that.

Also having issues of presets not appearing in the "Load Preset" tab nor in the Sculpt menu. I tried a new game both with Faster HDT and with no HDT. Doesn't work either way. Has anyone determined if this is a RaceMenu issue, SKSE issue, or something else? How did you resolve it and/or which mod conflict was the culprit?

For those getting CTDs or other anomalies after selecting SMP hairs in Racemenu, Faster HDT-SMP was the problem. There's a new build (Dec 25) available to correct the problem. This all sounds like symptoms of just not starting the game with SKSE. Presets and extended morphs requires SKSE and the DLL plugin that comes with this mod.

Hi, not sure whats causing this but I can't access my character presets anymore and my face has returned to the ugly default option it goes to when racemenu is broken. Wtf do I do? I literally updated another mod and it's now not working. No amount of reinstallation is working. Pleaseee help me I can't stream it like this - she's grosser than a foot

Odd, it's set to 1 by default in the .7z file.

Expired I figured out why the wigs (all of them) weren't getting colored correctly when applied to NPc/follower in the SKee64.ini I changed this to "1" all fixed. bEnableTintHairSlot=0

I found a weird "bug" or incompatibility with another mod. Not sure if it's a known thing or not, but when I have Wearable Lanterns, Wearable Lanters Fix, and Wearable Lanterns Vr Patch installed, it completely breaks Racemenu. I get no extra sliders and 3bbb sliders don't show up. It also breaks Xp32 for some reason and stops the Dyndolod_DLL from being recognized. Not sure why this happens, but I thought I should share.

One more bug that I have encountered...HDT SMP KS haridos are all blonde when handed out and so are Yundao and Dints...Here is a FAQ question and answer from HDT SMP KS hairdos .............................Q: The wigs are all blond, how do I change their color? A: Install RaceMenu (or skee64.dll of it) to get the correct hair color applied to them automatically. Works for the player and NPCs. So the problem seems to be skee64.dll related.

How do I install this new AE version on vortex? I always just do the mod manager download thing on the nexus.

SMP hairs crashing when being selected in Racemenu....HDT SMP wigs are fine though I have tried Dints and KShairdos HDT SMP hair and it equips and works but they just can't equip them in racemenu hair slider without CTD.

not working with the test build of faster hdt smp, and smp hairs. also you have to at .jslot youself in the preset when naming the prest, to make it save correctly. one more thing not every custom head part like custom ears show on custom races

I've deleted the old files then dragged everything into the correct area within the Skse folder and plugin esp and I keep getting Racemenu Errors for the skse script error. How do I fix that? I have the updated skse btw. Edit: ok race menu working 💪 still have that error but think it's a glitch now?

Are you using Vortex? Have you compleatly deleted 7 before installing 8? Also, check if its active in plugins. I also setting its version to "0.4.19" and "User Interface" in Vortex mod list, so its understandable version for Vortex and no any warnings over it.

Not exactly sure whats triggered it however v0.4.19.8 doesn't appear to be loading for me. v0.4.19.7a was working and stopped so I updated to .8 (tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success)

I'd like to confirm that with v0.4.19.8 the disappearing overlays bug is gone on my setup. I tried pretty much all the tricks I typically used to make them disappear and they won't go away :)

Still having issues with the Sculpt / Preset, I installed your latest update but they don't show up. Any ideas why? - Fixed the issue- some files were corrupted, but now whenever I finish my character the game crashes.

@Expired - same issue with save-load and overlays, as @todd laduke have. If it will help: tats i adding at face makeup tab is not affected. everything from body tats tab is vanishing at loaded game. community overlays used.

Hey i was wondering if you knew why when i try to use a presets in the 2nd of the 3 tab called settings , it says CharGen Presets unavailable? can't find the right folder anywhere, and when i try to save a presets manually it says its saving but it doesnt, and the folder neither the saved presets are here. Thanks

.7 works fine except that the overlays go missing on actor after save, exit then re-enter the game. When re-entering the overlays on actor are gone. Thank you for your work BTW

The authors of Faster HDT-SMP are still active and have said there will be an update, just all in good time.

@Cristian it's HDT-SMP it's need to be updated to work for the hairs....that's pro gonna be a while since the author has been MIA don't know about YUNDAO not related to racemenu

hi, I dont know if this is related to hdt-smp or racemenu or the hdt-smp hair mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31405 When I selected a hdt-smp hair from the mod above all worked like a charm, physics and collisions...as soon as I exit the game and reload the save, the hair is distorted and in the ground...body physics still work and on hdt-smp mode selected and started with the + key in the Acro 3ba mod...also the overlays are gone when I reload the save in this latest racemenu version (foot, hands, body and face) also when I re-enter racemenu and try to select another hdt hair the game just crashes to desktop.

Can anyone tell me, perchance where to make it so the presets show up? Their not showing up on my end even though I have it and skse ae. I'd really love to use them :) I have a preset folder in skse and use vortex as my installer.

installed 4.19.5, now game wont load using skse, i am using skse 1.6.342, no errors showing in loot

If the steps are anything other than: Change some overlays, save the game, (optional) quit, load the game >> overlays are missing. I haven't been able to repro this myself, the overlays always persist through cold boot loads and same-session loads.

Installed the new one 4.19.5 version and game crashed after save load....I think but not 100% sure that it's a problem with expressive facegen morphs mod. So I went back to 4.19.4 and my save loads fine now if anyone else has a problem loading a save try that...I'm not very savvy with this stuff and I don't want to break my game so I am shelving it until they fix Schlongs of Skyrim AE version.

Disappearing Overlays bug is still in 0.4.19.5. Let me know if you'd like a bug report on how to trigger it. All updates (shown with skee diagnostics updates) were at 0 right after load when the bug triggers.

so I got the new SKSE and put that in. Then I downloaded this and extracted it and moved the racemenu.esp, racemenu.bsa, and racemenuplugin.esp into This PC>local disk>program filesx86>steam>steamapps>common>SkyrimSpecialEdition>Data. And then I put the Skee64.dll and Skee64 config into PC>local disk>program filesx86>steam>steamapps>common>SkyrimSpecialEdition>Data>SKSE>plugins and I can see the "$Extra" and "$Expression" but everything in the tabs are blank and the UI looks like vanilla skyrim otherwise. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or not

I can't help you debug general crashes. Please confirm that skee64.dll is the cause of the crash by removing it temporarily from Data/SKSE/Plugins first. If your crashes still occur it is from something else.

This is a symptom of the extended morphs not being applied when the part changes. Can you start with a vanilla slider set and narrow down which sliders cause this? There is an internal hook which should be taking care of this. Edit: Nevermind, found the bug. Resolved in 0.4.19.5 turns out there was two variations of the same internal function and one had more conditions so it never ran any of the extended slider code when changing parts

First, this release works for me, so thank you so much for your hard work, i know you're busy. Second, I'm having a reoccurring problem. What's happening is when I load a preset, it looks normal, but when I go to change the eye color or change the eyebrows, it sets the brows or eyes back and makes the face look jacked up or the eyebrows clip through skin. I do use high poly head, but if I save a new preset then load it then change the eyes, it doesn't bug out. It's only on ones I made and save pre AE. This is a very frustrating thing and I'm wondering if this is something that will be fixed as you work through updating this mod, or if it's something i'm just going to have to deal with because I have a messed up way shaping my characters even though none of them were made through sculpt but just the sliders.

Just checked. Same here. Starting to load, black screen, poof...

After I updated RM, game won't load. It pulls up the black screen then just disappears. Vortex also crashed, so maybe that's related?

Where is located your presets?

I downloaded this version and I am still getting the error, Chargen Presets Unavailable. I disabled the last version and installed this one. So I know I'm probably messing something up. Any tips?

Just dont forget to set in Steam "Upddate only with game start" so it will not update Skyrim AE like a nuke again, if you using SKSE with Vortex. Damn, Bethesda :)

I usually disabling, uninstalling and installing|enabling new version, just in case.

do I need to delete my current installation of the mod before adding this or will it work if I just replace the existing files?

Wow, thanks. I'll try to do some more systematic testing this evening to see if I can trigger the disappearing overlays bug, starting with just RM as is, then adding XPMSSE, then doing it over as loose files. I mean, who knows, from what you write (and what I got) the loading sequence seems to matter here and from what I understand loose files are always loaded last in the flow. I can't test with ECE since it hasn't been updated yet.
