ExW - RRH - Animation & Comic Release !

Finally ! After all the sweat and tears wasted on this project, I'm happy to announce it's release. I must say that it has been the most annoying project so far, and I am taking a break from vegetation scenes. I mean it this time. Without further ado, here it is and I hope you enjoy it ! ^^

Again, big credit goes to FlortySix on baraag or twitter for making the audio on the animation <3

For this project I wanted to do some advanced compositing using different passes for more overall control of the scene. It worked amazing, and I love working like that, but it has annoying bugs and terrible exporting from Blender. The main reason to why I was pulling my hair is the constant out of memory issues with the GPU. Nvidia need to step up their game. I have to render vector passes in Blender to add animation motion blur, which will have visual issues instead of traditional Blender motion blur. But Blender also need to step up their coding game, and optimize a lot of things, hopefully in 2025.

I can't use the Blender motion blur one because it requires to preload the image from before and after, while my scene runs on about 17GB of VRAM. That means I need at least 49GB.

Depth of field can look wonky at some points, because of two things :

Blender has inacurate and uncontrollable depth of field, meaning that textures lose a lot of detail. I managed to restore that detail by rendering black and white images separetly, and applying blur, which has a lot of issues that I noticed were never fixed IN BLENDER since around 2009.

As you can see, I finally got my hands on a high quality Wolf model. It was made by the same people who made the German Shepherd used by pog_benis in his animations. I modified it a lot and I plan on changing a few other things in it so Bolt looks much more unique. I tried to add Hair Dynamics, but on Particle system used by Blender, it is not possible. You can notice a lot of clipping when Ellie interacts with touching the fur, it's because I initially wanted to implement the hair dynamics later, just to discover that physics are messed up and baking doesn't work. I could spend weeks on converting the system to the new one and figuring out how to make it work without exploding my computer and sanity in the process, but I just give it a pass for the next two years.

The project might look a bit rushed, well it's because I did rush it towards the end, but if I wouldn't, I feel like it would never be finished.

I want to finish Book Club now, but there has been so many software changes, it's all messed up. The goal is to gradually make it work with new models, and keep the animations. I will take on user requests and do many small side projects, instead of making one release per a few months. I expect to post more often and be more creative.

Thank you all for your support ! I would literally not do these anymore if it werent for my supporters, because I would have to focus in IRL work all the time <3

I'd love the link please when you get around to it ;)

It was a great result, rushed or not. But yeah I think the change in focus is warranted as once again all your work is masterwork quality regardless.

Initially it was a nude version. I guess I could render the nude version too because why not. Thank you for your kind words <3 If you got ideas, you can directly message me ^^

Despite the hardships you went through with this project I think it turned out lovely as always!~ ^^ It’s fun to see the Y Ellie model being used more too, I love how detailed these new models are. Judging by some of the images, was there going to be a nude version too? Just curious! Also, I’m excited about the possibility of user requests for content~ :3
