Questiary Commercial Use Guidelines

Hey everyone,

We're making our monsters freely available for commercial use for all patrons. If you create and sell your own 5e content and want to incorporate our monsters into your work, here's everything you need to know.

Commercial Use Guidelines

Whilst you’re a supporter of Questiary on Patreon, all Questiary monsters are otherwise freely available for commercial use in your products subject to the following requirements:

  1. The monster(s) are included as part of a larger original work, such as an encounter, adventure, or comparable product that includes at least 250 words per monster;
  2. Each monster used may include both its art and its statistics, or just its statistics. Individual monster art not accompanied by the monster’s corresponding statistics is not permitted for commercial use, though a monster’s art and statistics may be presented on separate pages of a single product;
  3. Monster art and statistics are presented in their original forms without alteration;
  4. The incorporation of a monster’s art and/or statistics in the product is accompanied by one of the Questiary logo images (attached to this post) either above, below, or otherwise adjacent to the instance of said monster;
  5. The product credits any included monsters to “questiary.com” in a separate credits section of the product; and
  6. Questiary retains the right to revoke use permissions and request a product remove any inclusions of or references to Questiary monsters should it deem the work racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise offensive.

Q & A

How long do I have to be a patron before I can use monsters in my commercial products? What happens if I stop being a patron after I’ve published a commercial product?

We aren’t proposing any hard guidelines on a minimum time subscribed, nor are we requiring that creators remain patrons of us in perpetuity if they wish to keep their products listed. As long as you’ve been billed for at least one month’s worth of releases, you can go ahead and start using our monsters in your products. If you think you’ll keep using our monsters in the future, consider remaining a patron. If you’ve supported us, used our monsters commercially, but don’t have plans to continue doing so in the future, feel free to unsubscribe without guilt.

Is there a limit to the number of products I can publish over a certain time period?

Nope.

So I have to credit Questiary twice? Once directly beside the monster with a logo image and again in a separate credit section?

Yup!

Does the logo image have to be a particular size?

It has to be clearly visible and readable; preferably at least the same size of the body text of the product.

What if I have other questions?

No worries. Feel free to reach out to us either via patreon message or by joining our discord and leaving a message for us there in our “Questions and Feedback” channel, we’ll be happy to clear up any confusion or answer further questions.
