I LOVE the right pose on that page, but her stance in the left panel is too stiff for the amount of energy she needs to be putting into that thrust to bisect that monster.

Yeah, it's the legs in the left panel of the 4th page. While I am by no means an expert, having the legs straight like that makes the panel lack a sense of movement. It also keeps the image from imparting the effort involved. The way it's drawn brings to mind that she is just standing there and effortlessly moves only her arms to slash open her target. While that sort of op is often portrayed in anime...it doesn't work in this comic, I believe.
