July Waypoints

A police officer pulls over a station wagon packed with an entire family on vacation. He asks Grandpa, the driver, "Why were you going so slow?"

Gramps replies, "The speed limit is 20 miles per hour, officer."
"No sir, the speed limit is 70."

"Then what are all the signs that say 20 on them?"
"This is Highway 20. They just mark what highway you're on."

"Ohh... That explains why they were all screaming back there on Highway 166."

Remind Me Again...?

Here's a QoL improvement that's been requested lots of times, most recently by member Leejin in Discord. And I'll bet you're going to enjoy using it. As expansions are released and seasons come and go, who among us isn't leveling up mercenaries as fast as we can to take advantage of the elusive Battalion buff? If I only had a plat for every minute wasted playing mercenary musical chairs to remember which one is currently training. Well, this should help:

Darq Side members Leejin, badndash and Dr. Pepper are doing some final testing now, and if nobody comes up with any issues it will be rolled out for the rest of us ASAP.

And speaking of mercenaries, I hope you've given the premium Mercenary Delayed Assist feature a try -- it's super-useful for soloing and grouping with a merc, especially in solo dungeons. By design it starts out at 0% when you first log in, but I've had several occasions where I forget to set a percentage.

A new label is being added on the main Mercenary window surface to make it more clear what your current combat percentage setting is. Right now it looks something like this:

ACT Statter

ACT plugin developer and Darq Side member Reapp has published version 1.02 of his excellent combat stat graphing plugin called ACT Statter, and as mentioned in previous posts he has graciously collaborated with us to incorporate data from the DarqUI Stat Monitor into the stat logging output.

You can use the Statter graphical output to view and compare selected stat changes over the course of combat against your DPS and HPS. If you want to dig into the details of how your stats affect your perfomance, you need look no further:

You can get the plugin by visiting Advanced Combat Tracker -- Downloads. New Stat Monitor and Window Manager files are getting just a bit of final testing and will be published within the next few days.

More Room for Stats

And speaking of stats, recent changes to the Character window to accommodate the new Event (plume) slot gave us a bit more room on the Combat Stats tab, so we'll be adding the remaining PvP Stats in the extra space.

And speaking of the Event slot, there are several places throughout the UI (Loadouts for example) and the utility that are impacted by the new gear slot. We've already got some adjustments underway in the utility (Inventory page) and we'll keep you updated on progress there.

In the Bag

You may have noticed a nifty new QoL improvement in the default UI, in the form of a multiple bag move feature. You can now highlight any combination of open bags, bank boxes, etc. and move them all at the same time as a group, a very welcome addition to the game. In response, the DarqUI Bag Options window has a new custom tooltip with instructions on how to take advantage of the feature.

Camping Bug

A small recent update to the Shutdown (Camp) window eliminated a visual bug when camping to yourself. Now the pop-up message shows which character and server you chose instead of Character.SelectedIndex (Server.SelectedIndex).

Comments

Yes, take a look at the July 3 article for a tip on how to disable the feature.

Sorry to say, I don't use it at all. I manage all that training stuff another way and the extra clicks to train my mercs are annoying. Can I turn it off?

Tim Jones

the mercenary training option is AWESOME and will be enjoyed by everyone when it rolls out.. it is SO much easier to know how long you got, and the extra part of seeing what level your merc is awesome too. Thanks Darq!!
