We should start referring to age as Levels, so when you hit "Lvl 90" it sounds more badass than just getting old.

Last month's expansion post was fairly exhaustive, in more ways than one, so it performed double-duty as the November newsletter. As a result there were several odds and ends that I didn't get a chance to mention.
Out of Bounds
When you save a setting with the Window Manager, it's actually calling on the same pop-up window that's used to add points of interest (POI). While we were working on the EQ2MAP update I discovered an odd display issue if you save something while the Window Manager is off the edge of the screen. It wasn't breaking anything, and you most likely have never encountered it. But it's fixed anyway.
Can't Concentrate
A while back, Rosyposy had asked if the Player and Extended Player windows could be more alike, and one place where this might be possible is adding Concentration slots to Extended Player as a display option. If this can happen without disrupting anything, consider it done during January.
Merc Moves
You may have experienced the Mercenary window picking out a new location all by itself, which has been annoying chief for quite a while. He's much more particular about his UI layout than I am, but it's a legitimate issue that happens for some characters when the game resizes the window internally on login. We've been working on an alternate version of the Mercenary window that doesn't get resized, and therefore doesn't move around. It's a hybrid between minimized and maximized, and so far it's looking very good. If it meets with chief's approval we'll put it under the gear icon on the updater for you to try out.
All Help Broke Loose
Restoring DarqUI Help to the game went well, although an issue with the manifest made it necessary to temporarily rename one of the files so the Notifier will stop nagging about new versions. So that's why the oddly-named allhelp_credits file appeared out of thin air. Inside it's just help. Credit scrolls still have their own file. Allhelp will get properly renamed when the next version of the Notifier gets published, but in the meantime if you see allhelp_credits get updated it's because I'm correcting a couple of (translated: several) conversion mishaps that were noticed recently in the help text.
Pictorial Tutorial
We've had several requests, most recently by Lucutious, for a tutorial on the Maintained Spell Monitor. The day will come when I can just plop down with a headset and get a tutorial out the door in one sitting. But for now it takes this amateur more time to get everything scripted, video'ed and produced. So thank you for your patience with that! Speaking of videos, I never knew there was a whole cartoon written for this goofy Christmas song.
2K/4K
Large and X-Large sizes of the Enemy List are already done and getting just a bit more QA testing (thanks Alderin) before they go on the server. Also, you may have noticed the Examine window had an update a few days ago. You'll recognize this complicated little widget:

Sizes and proportions for L and XL versions got some tweaks to look more like their normal-size counterparts. The Large size especially should be more legible now. (Interestingly, the same element in tooltips remains small. That's not an oversight -- the game doesn't give us ready access to that area in tooltips so it needs to be looked at some more.)
The Login window is already available in L and XL, but there are several minor dialog frames tucked into that window, like the "Logging in with..." dialog, that have recently been scaled up to match. Testing and publishing in January.
And finally if you're using the Extras package there were a few tweaks here and there to font sizes, alignments, etc. Nothing earth-shattering.
Everything Else
As you can see, I'm working through the request list as efficiently as possible. So for members who have made requests that don't appear to have been addressed yet, you haven't been forgotten. If I've told you your idea is on the list, it is!
Thank You
A bunch of players (87) joined The Darq Side this year, while some others (40) have gone on their way. I want to wish our past and current members all the best for 2022 along with a sincere thank you for checking us out and being part of the DarqUI and ProfitUI CE projects.
For our new members and long-time supporters, you're the real Secret Santas around here. I can tell you that today there are more players using DarqUI than ever before. A lot more. So every time you log in, just remember that a healthy chunk of the game's population is benefiting from innovations and improvements that you make possible from right here in our snowy little workshop!
