Yeah, I recall their double standard team members. Which never made a whole lot of sense to me as they were often worse than many of their regular villains. Angelus however wasn't a member of the league though, so I'd expect them to be much less forgiving of him.

Considering how they wiped out the vampires in Sunnydale over the course of the next few hours at the start of the series, I'd expect them to have much less sympathy for a guy who was cursed, broke it, went on a murder spree and then was cursed again.

2024-12-02 02:33:54 +0000 UTCUnless Giles and the rest are basically glossing over everything that happened in Sunnydale, they should be aware of how easy it is for Angel to have a single moment of happiness and then the leader of the Scourge is back to cause untold amounts of death again. Which happened only a few years ago when Buffy decided to get into necrophilia.

There's no way they wouldn't know of someone like him who was once called the Scourge of Europe. Which does beg the question of how he managed to survive to even get to Sunnydale in the first place? That world has far more powerful people in each country that would have happily killed him for his crimes ages ago. Even if cursed, there's just too many who'd either have attacked him for revenge or tried to use him in a place like DC comics universe.
