Beta Giveth; Beta Taketh Away
Added 2021-03-20 19:54:00 +0000 UTCIf you're hanging out on the Beta server at all lately, you'll have the option to use DarqUI which offers a couple of updates specific to Beta. It's pretty simple to do -- you make a second copy of your utility in the Beta folder. Check out the DarqUI Page at eq2interface for all the deets. (Don't forget to put your premium key into the Beta copy!)
One small plus is a new Feedback choice on the Start menu, presumably for anything that's not a bug report (which still has its own menu pick with the happy green bug-monster.) Since it's down in the fixed portion of the menu, it gives us a spot for a fourth custom command icon (see image). So there's that.
A development of concern, though, is the removal of data that runs the custom hotbar cooldown timers. Meaning if this goes to Live, we won't have our nice big cooldown numbers and will have to rely on the default display which we've already seen in a weekly video tip is somewhat unfriendly. Not sure why this was done -- could be for technical reasons, who knows. If you're in Beta, the utility will give you a pop-up with more info.
But in the meantime, DarqUI just keeps getting beta and beta... thanks to you!
