January 2025 - Day 6.6a - Kotozakura v Atamifuji
Added 2025-01-17 11:46:01 +0000 UTCThis is a strange one... a first match between Ozeki Kotozakura (1-4) and M2 Atamifuji (1-4) that resulted in a Mono-ii (judges conference) to discuss who won.
As you can see from the video titles, the result was a rematch, but I still think this is worth watching and I would have preferred it to all be in one video to avoid spoilers, but the 10-minute time limit here on Patreon meant I had to split it up.

Being a shimpan is just hard - I have done this for Atarashii Naginata (we have both forms competitions with 5 shimpan & sparing matches with 3) since 2007 when I was licensed - I feel for the gyoji & the 5 shimpan during every bout.

2025-01-17 17:06:43 +0000 UTCExoectation is that Atamifuji will have seven bouts vs. sanyaku opponents. He could lose all seven and still get kk if he wins all his maegashira opponents. He now has basicly two extra wins from sanyaku opponents with one match left. Then he goes to work against other rank and filers.
