Sad to think this is probably the last time we see the Yokozuna though 😕 Anyway, amazing coverage as always Jason, I’m thankful we have this space to watch with you. PS: I liked how you titled this video and used a generic thumbnail. If there’s ever a playoff possibility, this could be the style of placeholder. Maybe make like a 9-10 minute filler of you talking or just an image of Okinoumi staring at the camera, that way the video length doesn’t betray the results. Food for thought!

Every match had a particular twist to it, whether it was being able to stay at ones rank and not being demoted. Or, the twist was Cup related. Amazing!! Thank you Jason for the coverage...you did a fine job with the Patreon channel. Hope you have a great trip to this side of the pond.

2024-07-28 16:34:19 +0000 UTCI think this system works really well, and is basically what you had started doing on YouTube. If there is a chance for a playoff, there is a bonus video. If there is a playoff, its that. If there isn't, then maybe it's part of the interview, or even you talking to the camera for 5 - 10 minutes so people won't know what the bonus video is. Thank you for all of the coverage this basho, Jason! I'm really happy that you are able to keep bringing us sumo! This basho marks 6 years since I found and started watching your channel (I was dacypher on YouTube)

2024-07-28 12:59:28 +0000 UTCI think instead of “bonus video” always title the last video of day 15 “Playoff or Victory Interview” with a generic sumo thumbnail even in basho that don’t come down to the wire that way it doesn’t imply anything about the “bonus video” being present. And make it tradition that in basho with playoffs the victory interview goes up the next day.

Post a video at the end of the last match called "End of X Basho" and that will either be a playoff video if needed, and if that isnt needed then it's just the winner's interview and ceremony. Then the 24 hour gap to the actual ceremony if it is a playoff. Letting people expect that should keep the suspense when needed.
