To no one's surprise, I end up drawing a lot of bottom-heavy women, and a lot of my art has a certain "look at my huge ass and thighs" energy to it. This usually pushes my posing to focus on women facing away from the camera, looking over their shoulders, and commenting on the size of their butt or chastising the viewer for being a pervert. Now, this is all fine, but it does pose a problem with character design. I can't show off the front if I'm focusing on the back. I'll need to design the character first, with a stock front/back character sheet poses to illustrate the character's design/proportions, but I often find myself totally uninterested in that workflow. It doesn't take much time; in honesty, it's sorta like an "eating your vegetables" mantra. Focus on the design first in a quick character sheet, then get down to making a dynamic interesting pose. Here, you could say all I wanted was to get to the meat (ah, puns). Without taking the time to just make a side image for the front of the character, I decided to pose her directly in front of a gym studio mirror, which was probably double the time investment. Hopefully it looks cool enough.
Lemme tell y'all, I overworked that ass to oblivion, as I did with many aspects of this painting. This is my first attempt to paint in CSP, which while having more options than SAI, does not have the tools I'm used to. Hopefully I can use the practical knowledge and experiences from this to make some better brushes and forge some better techniques.
Thanks for the support. Feel free to design your own character based off this one.
