Keychains In Production! [WIP, UPDATE]

LOL I apologize for the sudden INFLUX in merch stuff. I was hit right in the face with inspiration and motivation to work on this stuff, so I needed to take advantage of that xD 

Along with stickers of these little lynx kitten designs, I wanted to make either pins or acrylic keychains! Keychains won the popular vote over on twitter, and frankly I think they work better, design-wise, as keychains too! So I went ahead and put in an order for 50 of each design. I've gone with this specific company in the past so I have my fingers crossed that they'll turn out great and I wont need a physical copy to approve before going in with a full order (though I am getting product photos to approve before mass production begins, haha)

More details:

- They'll be 3" in length

- Will have glitter epoxy (basically a clear coat layer that has small bits of glitter in it) on the front side..cause I love glitter lololol

- Double acrylic board (so the art will be fully protected, no risk of the paint chipping off)

- Double sided print

- And a regular silver clasp (they had some fun designs, including a cat shaped clasp! But I wanted to go with something simple for these ones)

I'm really excited for these! This was the first time actually designing for a keychain (the other keychain I have in my shop was a design that I didn't really need to modify..this one I'm specifically planning it out) and its been a little tricky! I didn't know I needed a shape behind the text in order for it to mirror properly (derp) so now I know! Required a bit of rethinking the design but I think I like the outcome! (: 

Also as a result of tweaking the design the stickers will be transparent as well! (besides the obvious art and text layers, f course! ) A benefit for me too since the company I go with that makes transparent stickers are MUCH cheaper than the one I usually go with. I've already put an order in for those and should be getting a proof back from that company soon! Preorders for stickers are currently available in my shop! 

Some folks on twitter expressed interest in magnets, so I also went ahead and added that as an option for these designs too in my shop. Only difference with the magnet design is that there will be a full white border around the artwork. I'll be ordering those last since I haven't gotten any orders in my shop for them yet and will be waiting for the company to have a sale on magnets so I can save some $$$ :P 

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. I really like sharing merch progress with you guys, and I figured its beneficial to explain the process to you all, in case any of you are curious as to how much work goes into it! Its honestly easy once you get the hang of it, hardest part for me is sometimes the communication, since the companies that make my pins, charms, dakis, etc are all from China. Sometimes theres a bit of a language barrier here and there but its honestly been great and I haven't had any mess ups with anything yet! (and if I have, its usually my fault sending in a bad file or something xD)

So yeah! Keychains will likely be finished and shipped (after I approve the product photo) in about a week or so. Really fast production time! They won't be available for preorder until I get the production photos, however, but definitely keep watch on my twitter and FA for announcements! 

Also quick update for those waiting on news about my print book! I just had the one book I ordered as a proof ship out! Should arrive to me anytime between tomorrow and Friday! Once I look things over, I'll take some photos and share them with you here! Gosh I'm really hoping I wont have to make any changes so I can just get these orders opened now for them! AHH! I'm really excited haha xD
