Patrons using stolen credit cards?

Id share something weird with you guys.
Apparently one or more of my patrons has been using stolen credit cards to pledge to my Patreon page and now my balance is in the negative and my paypal is very low from paying back the money to the owners of the stolen credit cards. Luckily I'm not too strapped for cash atm and I'm not angry but like come on...... Don't be doing that.
So besides that I hope everyone has been doing fantastic and soon I'll share some updates about the VN and brainstorm on how that will change this patron page, maybe some rewards like cameo appearances and stuff.

It totally sucks but in a way makes sense, their just returning stolen property but at the same time I don't have any protection against this kind of thing.

2018-05-20 00:31:10 +0000 UTCI went to withdraw my funds from Patreon and add them to my paypal and it said I had a negative balance. It had a link next to it to explain why it was so, and it said that fraud accounts used stolen credit cards/debit cards to pledge to my patreon account and that they refunded the money back to the banks of the owners of the stolen cards. Patreons policy is that I don't own stolen money and so the refunds come out of my wallet. Also congratulations on your comics and animations ^^

2018-05-18 02:28:43 +0000 UTCHow did you find out about this? Were you contacted by PayPal or Patreon? I don't exactly know what our rights are in a situation like that, but I don't think a credit card company can just demand the money back.
