This Is My SEXY Caliper

I was given the distinct pleasure of doing some artwork for Mr. Steve G (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/mrsteveg) and had the image hovering around the 'finished but needs some tweaking' mark for about 3 weeks, as my father became pretty gravely ill about mid-production.

I was finally able to settle into a routine to catch up on the backlog of work that hit the wall when I had to take time off to tend to matters here.  In one week I started doing inks for the late Patron sketch from last month (I think?  Wait, its August?  How'd that happen?), finished Mr. G's fine workshop, and sketched a gnoll who sold candles.  Not bad for a few days work :)

I enjoyed working on this.  While my comfort zone is definitely of a more fantasy/fantastic variety, I don't often get asked to do lined coloured work in a modern setting.  I got to rummage through a few reams of workshop photos, cabinetry photos, fire-extinguisher photos and even found a 3D model of a lathe that I could twirl around and look at.

And hey, I got to draw a dark-coated wolf guy without pants.  So I guess that one's pretty close to the comfort zone, so to speak :)

Next up I'm looking to finish the inks for the patron sketch, finish the inks for 'Yeendles' and sketch in another idea before sending out the notice to the next person on the illustration list.

I'm gonna need coffee.

Remember to always measure twice.

Pants are overrated!

I was hoping to. Sadly I have to put a pause on doing extra work since my father's health hit a pretty steep hill 3 weeks back. Since we're still in the 'wait and see' stages with him I can't take on much extra work until I know what will be involved. But I really would love to get back into doing commission work again. It was nice having the extra project on the side, and doing colour work again. Hopefully the health situation can even out enough that I can put together a schedule for it :)

Oh absolutely. I was hoping to start nudging into the realm of being able to take on the odd bit of commission/contract work on the sign until my father's health hit the 'week to week' stage of his life a few weeks back. So for the next while I still won't be able to take much extra on :/ But doing inkwork on a sketch I've done previously would absolutely work when I can manage it. And it would have a pretty scaled back price as well from normal, since the base-work is already done :)

Sadly Twitter is pretty off my radar now. It became a source of depression since it seems every second post is about how utterly miserable people are, and people's 'hot takes' on things they can't possibly have any factual information on. The last art I posted on there actually lowered my follower count by three or four people and had precisely five views. I just don't have the mental health to deal with it, and I accept that. Some folks have more fortitude for the place than I do, and I wish them fair winds through the jagged rocks. :)

With me it's dice.. I don't even play TTRPG's that much anymore but I've got some kind of weird addiction to them. You can't even build anything with them ;)

I guess I can cross out the 'It has been 0 Days since the last accident' sign then ;)

Me set loose in a tool store is akin to a kid in a toy shop.

Perfesser Bear

I am a machinist. Never nude in the shop.

Hawt!

Kubulai

Oh wow, this is excellent! Are you tentatively opening commission slots, then?

Sylvian

Very well done :)

MountainGoat

Would you take commissions to ink a prior sketch?

TacomaWerewolf

Wow that image alone will guarantee at least an extra 4k Twitter followers.

Machine tools are sexy. Calipers are cool, particularly outside calipers but a Mitutoyo depth micrometer - woof.
