Tired.

Since I did a picture of Cinders earlier this month, her husband Berrand needed a picture done as well. Taking a break with the dragon-pipe after digging a cartload of mulch in preparation for the upcoming growing season.

When I sat and looked at this I was a bit amazed at how rough the figure drawing was compared to the background. Until I realized that the software I use has rulers in it that allow for these amazingly clean lines. I utterly love the perspective rulers the more I use them. And even found a 3D bench that looked pretty decent, though I had to change a bunch of things to make it fit the fantasy theme. It took a few passes to get Berrand sitting on it correctly, but I think the angle is close enough.

Part of the image is autobiographical as well. I've been crazy exhausted lately. The long days continue, but slowly, day to day, they're getting easier. My father's health has largely stabilized, and he has enough energy again to do things around the house. I'm also extremely lucky to have local friends who've helped out immensely over the last couple of months.

Tomorrow is a 'short day' work-wise. I'm starting to catch up on arty things it feels like. Though I don't want to jinx it.
