I've had this picture near completed on the drive for a couple weeks at least. I still had to do some correcting and painting, but it was nearly complete before the health chaos spun into full swing.
Indoor scenes tend to scare the hell out of me when it comes to painting, since light can be from several focuses at once, and shadows can be kind of anywhere depending on where windows, lanterns, hearths, heaters, or out of control kitchen fires might be situated. I think I managed to get things looking at least plausible in this.
Its hard to believe that this was first sketched out after my father got his first dose of the vaccine. Now its marking the few days before he gets his second. Which will be just as big a relief. I won't have mine for months most likely, but its a relief that I won't have to worry about him if someone wanders past him and coughs or explodes or decides to pee directly into the wind while making bat howls (We have some choice weirdos in these parts).
I should have a pretty cool sketch to show shortly too. Its for last month's patron pic, and is of an ancestry I haven't drawn in ages. I have all of these half finished images I'm looking forward to getting done and shared.
Hoping to get to the times where dancing with tiny friends can be done safely again.
