Me Nerves are too Short for Me Body.
Added 2020-11-20 20:57:00 +0000 UTCI'm finally starting to get back on track when it comes to answering e-mails and comments, and more importantly doing art again.
I had a sciatic nerve pinch for the last 6 days that was a wonderland of not being able to stand, sit, or lay down without an impressive amount of pain. And given that I haven't mastered being able to float weightlessly, this meant 'always pain'.
I have managed to pick away at a couple sketches, but it was very slow going. Sitting up at certain angles would cause what felt like the bones in my right leg suddenly pulverizing into fire, which meant I had to sit at this weird side-angle, very close in to what I was working on. And since I'm near sighted, this meant the art was more a leap of faith in hopes that I was drawing the right thing.
And probably at an angle, since I sat wonky :)
Well, not really, but it meant I finally had to stop trying to do all the work (My full time is nothing but physical labour) and rest for four days, and either stare at the ceiling without craning my neck, or alternatively (and more entertainingly) I ended up watching Disney+ shows on the Kindle Fire that I held up directly over me.
Fun times!
While I still get twinges now and then, I seem to be much better, so I'll be catching up over the next couple weeks for sure. I still have a bunch of folks to answer back.
I also have a Patron sketch to do this month! On Monday I'll be sending out the notice to the next person on the list. Please note that if I've pinged via e-mail and you haven't got back to me, I'll gladly set you next on the list after the current month's sketch. This helps me not fall too far behind on getting everyone on the tier their initial sketch.
So, my apologies for being quiet in the last week. The sciatica is from an old work injury I got when I was a freight puller in a warehouse section. I guess I can't shrug it off like I used to. Stupid old bones, being all.. old.

You'll get nothing but sympathy from me. Between sciatica and a herniated disk, I know from pain.
