Patron Sketch - May
Added 2019-06-15 22:41:58 +0000 UTCWith some of the family stuff that came up about six weeks ago I was waylaid in getting the patron's sketch for May under way (April, sadly, had to be a missed month as time was in such short supply). However I did finally get to do some concepts and inks, as May's sketch was donated to have a character named Cadirr drawn (Laza on FA). I was also kindly given permission to post the final inks here as well as on FA.
I had to abstract a lot of the background, though every fiber of my being wanted to go in and just detail the daylights out of everything. I got to see a lot of really cool fashion stuff in the goth/cybergoth/nightclub scene though which is a genre I've never delved into before. And besides, I got to draw a jackal (Woo! Anubis Forever!).
A bigger part of me wanted to go in and do simple colours on this because I can see the lighting in this very clearly in my head, alas, time still is at a premium, and I've got a painting, concept sketches, and June's patron sketch to gear up for as well.
I do want to thank Savron for his patience while I got this image done.
I should be back on track to work on art during the off-days and/or evenings again as well, gardens have been planted, people have healed, and my studio cat, Smokey, has a new perch where he can sit and judge me severely for disappointing his cat sensibilities, or just for being an inferior being in his eyes. Hail, Smokey. May he forever reign.
