Hey all!
With very kind permission from Paul Kidd he allowed me to post a version of the final painting of the cover for the upcoming D20 to Yuma RPG that he's writing (under the Kitsune Press moniker I believe). While I don't normally add any watermarks to Patreon images, this image belongs to Kitsune Press and I needed to make sure that was represented.
When I was offered the chance to draw a 'Cactus Dragon' I knew I had to take the project on and draw something with a lot of crazy spines and cacti growing out of it. The game also features a lot of the standard races of D&D, one of which is the original D&D pig-snooted orc. One of the reasons I love working with Paul is that I get to draw on some old-school favorites that I used to pour over in books like the 1e Monster Manual and Fiend Folio. Its a bit nostalgic, and gives me a chance to give my take on what some of these creatures would look like.
From the synopsis I was given, its a world that is both wild-west, with a chance to run into 'ancient tech' scattered around the badlands and forgotten parts of the world. Hence the old duct towers and cabling strewn about.
As always, this was a blast. Paul is an immensely easy person to work with, and a hell of a writer. I hope I'll get tagged for his future projects.
