The Fine Art of Gardening (nudity) - July 11th

I had to finally stop myself from dotting away at this picture.  I kind of wanted to leave this with a bit of an illustrative or storybook feel to it.

Cinders gleefully chatting away with Berrand (off camera) as she tends to her tomatoes and shows off her freshly painted stars.

Next up will likely be the next page in the Qiuloa comic.  First page I've done in months but I really have missed drawing on that one, and if I don't get a bit more of the story done I'll forget it entirely and it will end up as a comic about tin cans and yelling at vegetable ghosts.

Plus its good weather for drawing otters and palm trees.

Oh course her kneepads have little pumpkins on them! Those dents and dings are what I like about old furniture like that. Something to be passed down and cherished from generation to generation. With the way you described the desk placements around the isle I started to think it was a set up for a video game where the player travels from region to region, yet somehow all the work they did on one bench shows up on the next. Having the scrolls and chicken would've made it feel even more at home, but I like an organized desk better than one with too much stuff and not enough places to put everything. Still love the desk in the picture and the whole feel. Stay un-oven-roasted, James Henry Bgawk, lol. Good name.

Thanks muchly! I actually had even more clutter planned for the image, including large architectural rolls of paper on the top of the desk's shelves (her garden plans from years past), more baubles and bottles on the desk and even a chicken (Named James Henry Bgawk) looking bewildered in the foreground. Time wasn't on my side this time, though, as I missed a couple days of work due to the weather trying to oven-roast me, so I had to force myself to stop adding bits and pieces and finally finish the image. I love old and heavy furniture. Old antiques that are made to stay for ages and slowly mark the years with little dents and dings. A way of showing that they're part of a family home. Her husband Berrand made that desk for her back when they first moved to the isle in the middle of the lake. It was somewhere for her to study plants, herbs, and mystical mushrooms from different planes. A place to put her tea on cold evenings, or coffee on most mornings. He's made all sorts of benches and tables for around their isle. as well. And FYI, her kneepads have little pumpkins on the front of them. :)

Oh man! I can't believe how much depth you've added to it. That window on the left is a lot further back than I realized. I also love the dust in the light beams and glowing mushrooms under the desk. There so much more I'm missing. I know I'm going to have fun trying to find all the little hidden things. Looking forward to your comic update. Thank you for continuing it. Also, desks need to be made of wood like that again. There's just something solid and natural about it. I just love how much the picture feels like it could be real and has been real in the past (despite the nude anthro-horse dead center). There's also something comforting about the whole scene. Like everything's in control. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Very cool picture and awesome job. I just noticed the kneepads! . . .
