General Update - May 1st.

Hoping the weather is warm(er) for you all.

I thought I'd send out a bit of an update with what should be coming up art/creation-wise.  This is mostly just a general idea, much of it woven between getting the property ready for gardening and (yet more) renovation when the months get warmer.  I'll personally just be glad to get out there and see the sun again.  S.A.D did a number on me this winter.

First up, you'll probably be seeing a lot more 'sunny' art from me coming up.  I guess my creative 'clock' goes along with the season.  I've wanted to draw out more on the Laontra (otter folk) of the world.  The next painting will be in that theme.

The comic will be picked up again.  My drive to draw tropical has made me want to draw on it again.  I'm compiling notes of where I think the story was going, and will likely make a lot of changes again since I remember being a bit lost with it the last time.

Sketches will continue.  Some will be a bit more 'random'.  Gesture drawings, a 'races of Felwroth' chart, cultural artifacts and whatnot.  Much of those will be rough as I'm trying to get a lot of ideas down before my memory loses them again.

As usual, I'll be trying to get a painting done each month.  I've been toying with doing comic style colour images as well as I like some of the characters of the line-work that is left on images.  I used to do lined colour images all the time, but it was a long while back and it'll be a learning experience.

Patron sketches will, of course, continue for folks at the $10 tier.  Last months is being finished today, the next will be in about 2 weeks.

Commissions!  I'm going to slowly, slowly try to take on commissions.  All commission openings will be posted here first, and price deductions per tier will indeed apply.  However, commissions will not be a monthly thing.  Doing a painted/coloured image takes up a monumental amount of time including any research I might need to do on a subject.  These projects will probably take place over the course of a month, maybe two, maybe a little longer depending on time and complexity, thus I ask that unless the deadline is a year away or more, not to ask for a timed piece.

I'm trying to dust off a price list and figure out what I should be charging.  I literally haven't got a clue as I haven't done commission work in a while, and other artist's prices vary so wildly that it's a tough baseline to figure out.  I do know that commissions can be for colour, cel-shaded, paintings, sketches or just inks.

A last note on commissions:  I have to sadly reserve the right to turn down a commission if I deem it too complex (2000 B-17 bombers being attacked by 160 109's, the entire vascular system of a human being sprawled amidst a field of stars, etc) or if its just something I can't really get into (which isn't much, but things lime murder rampages or animal abuse of any kind are things I'll likely turn down flat).  Though such things aren't anything I've had to worry about with folks on here :)
