Update - December 6

Heya folks, just a brief update.  I didn't manage to get much showable sketchwork done to post today.  I have a the next page for Tides in production as well as sketching out another painting as well.

The Sketch List

I did want to mention that I'll be sending out the sketch offer to the next person on the $10 tier list as well.  But wanted to let folks know how I go about choosing people to do a sketch piece.  Essentially It's an (ever narrowing) list that is chosen randomly.  Being an rpg  nerd I use an online dice roller to determine the next person in line.  This keeps it from being too much of a 'favouritism' thing and is generally as fair as I can make it.

That said, everyone who is at that tier that had a payment processed gets a sketch.  Even if they have to drop support later on.  It's not a 'raffle' in that regard, forcing people to keep supporting - though I truly hope you can!  It's just a way I can give something back for that generosity.

In regards to the 'bots' that sign up every month trying to scrape my account for content, they obviously aren't counted into that number.  Only pledges that have been processed receive both content and the sketch at the $10 tier.  The bots are basically free advertising for me at this point, and simply get deleted when their pledges inevitably fail to go through during the payment period (Or even when I just feel like removing them).

The list itself is kept confidential.  I try to keep everything I can about people who pledge as confidential as possible.  Including previous winners unless they give permission to have their sketch posted as part of the stream here.

It's also getting down to the last handful of names as well, so if you haven't received a sketch yet, don't worry, your name will be up in short order.  Any new pledges at that level get bumped back by one month, so it lets me give to folks who have been around longer first.

Commissions

While I stated that I wanted to push back commissions until the new year, some things have arisen that are making me think about perhaps offering them earlier than I had thought.  I still might have to push it back to the new year just due to being so busy at this time of year, but it might be very early next year that I start taking work on.

I have to think about pricing as well.  I used to charge as little as possible because I had secondary work to rely on.  I currently don't have that secondary work to help subsidise things any more, so as much as I don't want to, I might have to up prices for full paintings by $10 or $20 to make up for the monumental amount of time that they take.  This isn't a guaranteed price-hike yet, I have a few feelers out to get work outside of art to help keep costs for creative endeavours down.

That's about it for now.  I should have some sketchwork up during this week though.  I can't believe it's already hurtling towards Christmas o.o
