Weekly Update - Number 2
Added 2015-05-16 01:12:14 +0000 UTCHello again, folks. This week will feature a shorter update, since things are generally on the same track that they were the last week. Images - The large painting for this month is nearing completion. There will be (hopefully) a lot of sketchwork to share as well. This time around there might be more equine characters in the mix, since I've found that I miss drawing them. Specific characters will make an appearance as well. That said, I've upgraded to another tablet after years working with a small Cintiq. While I love the Cintiq and Wacom products in general, a few things cropped up that made me finally consider switching out to a Yiynova 22U (V3). The largest of these was a bug that's been persistent for years causing the cintiq's pen pressure to 'jump' suddenly when using Photoshop. This happened at random, and both Adobe and Wacom just pointed the blame at the other for this occurrence. The second major factor was colour viability. I've been finding the colours I do on the Cintiq were muddy when viewed on a clear IPS display. This was due to the anti-glare lining put under the glass of Wacom tablets. This accounts for my having to do major revising and colour shifts after work is done to fix the muddy issue, as the lining made images look darker and more contrasted than they really were. So far, the Yiynova has been a blessing, as colours already look better (in fact, better than my main IPS display). Plus it helps working on a screen that's bigger than an index-card ;) With some of the upcoming work, I might try out letting folks vote on which of the batch of sketches gets finished. If no votes are given, I'll simply roll the dice and pick one! So that's all for this week. Still moving ahead with work as usual. Hope to get some previews out to you all in the next week or so. Time is really just flying by these days. Cheers, and have an awesome week!
