0.5.6 Debrief and Hotfix (coming soon!)

Well, that was a little rockier than I was expecting! I've had quite a few bug reports now that a lot of folk have played the game and some are relatlvely easy to fix (a few event markers I forgot to unset) and some are a little knottier.

I've already made a master list - compiled from the threads on TFGames and F95Zone, plus a few DMs some of you lovely folk sent me - and I'm already working on a Hotfix. I'm hoping to have it all done and the game updated by early next week, but we'll see (adding that caveat because I hate making promises of days/dates and then not hitting them). But that's what I'm aiming for, anyway!

It's also made me think that the stuff I'm planning to do in 0.6 - the refactoring, etc. - is definitely the right call. I could feel some aspects of the game straining under the weight of poor design choices once I was six chapters deep, and I'm genuinely looking forward to working on some of the systems to make them more robust (and easier for me to use/keep track of), like the save system, the quest and event systems, and the sex game.

But don't worry! I'm still planning on one more 0.5 update first, which I'll do a whole seperate post on, but is gonna be about tying up some loose ends (so far) - stuff like the Dylan hookup - along with adding in some fun extra little details like more conversation options, character reactions, etc.

It's weird, but the more public complaints the game gets, the more it spurs me on to work harder on it. I really really want it to be perfect and polished and bug-free and I know its still a long way from that, but I'm so glad that at least some of you can see something in it! And if you did enjoy this last update, or just the game in general, do feel free to post about it somewhere or write a review (especially on the main TFGames page, where the reviews make it sound like basically the worst game of all time!), or even just drop the name in a comment thread the next time you see someone is looking for suggestions of similar games or whatever! It sure could use some nice things written about it online right about now. x
