0.5.6 - Test Build #2 (Jennifer Route)

Well, this isn't quite what I hoped to be sharing with you by the end of the month, but you know what they say about best-laid plans, right? Basically this month has been kinda rough for me on a personal level, including a whole week spent in hospital as a family member went in unexpectedly, plus way more work work than I was anticipating too. I hate to even write this, as it just smacks of excuses, but I figured it's better to be transparent and share where I am and what's been going on, rather than not share anything at all and leave you in the dark. Anyway, that situation is so much better now (thank god!) and as always, I'm back before the end of the month, sharing where I'm up to - which is the second Test Build, rather than the full finished thing. Urgh!

Trust me, I'm more frustrated than anyone that I'm not quite there yet. But the whole of last week - and hopefully going forward if I can make it a habit that sticks, I've been trying to do a no-zero-days approach. Meaning I'm making sure to work on Girl Games every single day without fail if I can, even if that means I can only cram in a half-hour some days in the morning.

Okay, all that out of the way, here's where we're up to:

Test Build #2

This now has both the Heather and Jennifer routes up to and including the games (still needs a touch of polish but all versions are basically there. This includes multiple variations - whether you do/don't perform the lapdance, whether you win/lose, etc. I've also got the exam result scene in on the following monday (minus the display of the result), and there's going to be a little more work on that before it's good to go. And i've added in variations of the post-games scene, with placeholder dialogue for now.

What's Left?

Well, I want to add in spicy scenes for Amy (if you're dressed en-femme), Kev (if you danced with him on stage), Dylan, and also one more which ... well, let's just say it has something to do with trying to convince Prof Anderson you deserve a better grade. I also need to add in the various branching dialogue options for characters once they've seen you dance in the games and know your girly secret. And figure I might as well get all this locked in before the public version goes out, as that would pretty much mark the end of the 0.5 set of builds, save from some small added content/descriptions and bug fixing and whatnot. Meaning, the core story elements are all in place, before I can start making it better (see the 0.6 roadmap/plan - which is a Google Doc - if you haven't already!).

So yeah, that's where I'm at. This is basically another "accountability build". LIke last month's test build, it's up online and in a mega folder to download. Here's the links:

Final note: I realise development on this game is slow. Trust me, I wish it was faster. I wish I had full regular days to work on it, 9-5, but that's just how things are. If you wanted to try to help speed things up, any positive review you could leave it on publically would help so much, as it would put eyes on the game and maybe encourage more people to try it out (and potentially support it), meaning I'd have more time to work on it. It's just a thought, and obviously I'm so so grateful for all the support you guys give me already.

Also, looking back at previous posts, it was end of April last year when I first shared 0.5.0, so this whole 0.5 cycle will have taken just over a year. I'm actually kind of proud of how far the game has come in the last twelve months, so maybe things aren't quite as totally gloomy and impossible and never-ending as they sometimes seem!

Heather25 βΈ± 5min Everything plays fine until Jennifer tell Ethan to go home and keep the outfit safe for the games. Then after changing clothes and heading out to Quad 1) Lecture Hall - Prof announces week off. 2) Cafeteria - Jennifer is there and the dialogue is the same as after Madison steals the phone. After answering "Got it" Game reverts to the scene at the leaving of "Heather's Soiree" and that's it. Can't play it further it just repeats. This just a player review of the test build for you. MAC OS .dmg version. MacBook Pro running High Sierra.
