0.5.6 Devlog - Let the games begin ...

I'm currently working on the Heather version of the timeline, a lot of which was written for version 0.4, although it needs some tweaks and rewrites here and there, plus a whole new set of logic for handling the various checks, etc, behind the scenes.

I honestly can't wait to get this update done and dusted. As I've no doubt said a number of times, I'm kinda seeing this as a finish line of sorts. Don't get me wrong, there's still a ton of work to do - not only fleshing out the rest of the game world, but also going back and balancing things a little better, and of course reworking the player data structure, but I needed to hit this point to be able to see what's working and what isn't. Apologies if this is kinda vague, but yeah. I guess I just mean that some of the systems I set up at the start of this cycle (0.5) are working great, while others need a total revamp. But that's only really becoming apparent now that I'm six updates deep!
I've got a fresh Jira board up and running and I'm determined to get 0.5.6 out ASAP. No matter what, I'll be sharing something with you before the month is out, be that a test build or maybe even the whole polished thing.
As always, apologies if I've not been posting a ton of updates on here but I'm continuing work on the game as much as I can outside of my boring real-world job commitments, and I'm itching to get this update out into the world!

In the photo I see Jennifer's protege. It would be nice if Ethan (standing to the side) could be illustrated in this way as well. Everybody looks great except poor Ethan the paper doll figure.
