Devlog 0.5.5 - Crunch Update 2

So ... yeah. I'm still not done, and the main things that have been crunching have been my braincells as I've tried to puzzle out a bunch of knotty, tangled threads and variables and whatnot as I get Jennifer's scene done. 

I also realised I did it again: made a promise re: when this was gonna be ready for, which I then preceeded to break! I'm lapsing into old habits. It'll be done soon, i hope, but yeah, I'm still elbow deep in this mess.

Okay, maybe it's not exactly that much of a spoiler, but Jennifer's scene takes place at the shady alley, where she makes you work off your debts. And for this to work, it needs to keep dipping in and out of a) the cut scene, b) a checker function that works out how much debt you still owe her, and c) a sequence of sex scenes with the various johns. This needs to keep cycling through until you've paid off what you owe her (or run out of clients, haha). Throw in some good old fashioned inventory wrangling beforehand too, plus branches for other routes like what if you have got enough money to pay her back when she first calls, or what if you make enough money between her call and showing up at her place, and ... yeah. it's been a LOT. 

The good news is that I have it all up and working in a kind of skeleton draft now - all the above is functional - and I just need to actually write the text and set the images (and write some unique sex data for the Johns). 

Oh and on top of that, I've had to add in a whole new "use condom" mechanic (also done!), and I've done some subtle QOL tweaks to the sex display stuff - you can now "continue current action" - and I've got the nightclub guy hookup all working too (save from some better text and dialogue and sex data, which again is still currently first-draft). 

So that's where I'm up to, and an explanation for why this update is taking me so damn long! I know I said I wasn't gonna make the mistake of promising a when again (and not hitting it) but it's definitely close now. Just needs some more writing, some polish and playtesting/bug hunting, along with the export.
