0.5.1 Test Build (accountability post!)

Alright, here it is ... kind of. Truth is, the more I look at it, the more unfinished it still looks, so I'm gonna spend another few days tinkering and polishing and whatnot, before I put out the 'official' build. But in the meantime, to hold myself accountable and to make sure I don't completely go back on my word, here's 0.5.1 in its current (messy) state:

It's just the online browser-based version, which honestly seems to be running pretty great (I've tested it on Chrome and Firefox) and the save functionality is working too!

I hope as you give it a spin, you'll see that I have been putting in a lot of work. There's so many things which are hopefully just small 'quality of life' things that I've totally reworked, which if they're done right a player wouldn't even notice .... Things like the main UI layout, the new choice selection system, the fact that you can now navigate like 95% of the game just by using your arrow keys and enter, should you so wish! Also the phone. Have you clicked the home button yet? Eventually that homescreen will be full of 'apps' (including Tinder, mwahaha) but right now, it's simply for settings, save/load, tasks and banking.

So what's still to do on 0.5.1 before I call it 'done' enough to release? Well, the more I think about it, the more there's still a shit-ton to do. I have to polish Jennifer's first big scene. I have to script in a lot more of Kevin's reactions and conversations depending on what you've done/what you're wearing. I have to hook up the ongoing quests and event flags for Jennifer's route - so the game can actually continue on after she leaves you. I have to add back in at least a couple of daydreams and some more masturbatory fantasies ... And on top of all that, I have to EXPORT and test the damn thing in its various incarnations: public (prologue), patreon only (game so far), patreon only (chapter one), for HTML/Mac/Windows/Linux ... phew!

I'm thinking it'll only take me a few more days to get all those last bits done, I'm aiming for the end of the weekend, but sadly real life is calling and I have to actually split focus and work on some stuff that pays the bills, too! But don't worry, this is still my number one priority, and I'm aiming to get this version and even maybe 0.5.2 done before June is out.

I've even set up a jira project management board, to keep myself on track and avoid all those tangles and backtracks that have snagged me in the past.

So yeah, as you can hopefully see, I'm deadly serious about this! Girl Games is gonna hit a 'finished' state before the year is through. Hope you enjoy the new content and I'll be back with the polished 0.5.1 build - both online and download - in a few days time!

Dana x
